How do I to change the belt on an eureka altima 12?

I recently received an Eureka Altima 12 amp vacuum but I didn't get a manual with it. I can't figure out how to change the belt. When I run it I smell burning rubber.

The belt is on the bottom right (looking at it from the front). the Eureka website does have the manual for download, http://www.eureka.com/service/manuals/80244.pdf

With the vacuum flattened (straightened) out, turn it over and remove the back roller cover, (2 screws) once off, the roller should just pop out on the opposite side (opposite from the belt). Don't forget to turn the roller to center the belt once you have it on.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

What type of belt fits best with my eureka altima 12 amp

The replacement from Eureka will work for certain, but any brand of belt that indicates it can be used on that vacuum will work.

Let me know if you have any additional questions.
