Preasrio CPU fan is noisy and goes on A LOT

Compaq Presario CPU fan goes on a lot -- does this mean that it is working too hard, possibly I don't have enough RAM?

That means that something is overheating and the fan is working overtime to cool things. Check to see that the power supply fan is working ad the the case fan is also working.

I don't think adding more ram will quiet the fan. It's got to be one of two things. 1. There is not enough air circulation. If it inside a cabinet try opening the door. Could be dust build up, try taking the side off and using either a vacuum or a can of air, clean out the dust. 2. There is some system proccess using up all the cpu. Try pressing Ctrl + Alt + Del on the keyboard. Along the top press the Proccesses Tab and then look at the bottom where it says CPU usage. If it is above 50% for more than a min. then that's your problem. Try looking at the list and see if you can find the program that is hogging the CPU. Reply back with the program and I'll give you detailed instructions on how to fix.

It's not your ram. What it means is that the system probably has inhaled too much household dust and is having trouble breathing. That is not a joke. The system has fans, and the fans are responsible for moving fresh air and unfortunately dust into the enclosure, and exhausting the heat. If the air is choked off, the heat builds up. If it gets to the point that the fan runs constant, the processor will slow down to compensate and avoid further overheating. That will make the computer slow. If you feel handy, you might get yourself one of those cans of compressed inert gas they sell at the major chains, unplug the computer and take it outdoors, remove the cover, and commence to cloudmaking. If you don't feel like that is for you, you can take it to a servicer, but it's gonna cost you a little more.

Won't start but CPU fan vibrates but will not go full blast. Intermittant

It appears you have a faulty CPU fan and it is causing the CPU to overheat and shut down.
I suggest you replace the CPU fan. remove any dust from the heatsink and put new heatsink compound on the CPU/heatsink.

The fan of the Presario CQ50 is too noisy. Any suggestions?

1.replace fan.
2..clean fan [you will have to dismantle laptop or take to shop].
If you clean your fans your self ,always hold fan bladesand dont let them spin as they can back feed and damage your cpu or graphic card. DT.

The fan keeps on running at odd times,,,,

Hi,
You don't have to worry about that. Fan only runs when your CPU is heating up. If you are running a lot of programs at the same time it can heat the processor and can turn the fan on. Fan also runs a lot if computer performance is slow. If you can keep your CPU in a cooler place then it will run less.
Good Luck!

What will be the possible cause when my laptop compaq presario C700 is automatically turning off?

If the laptop shuts down and won't boot up until it has cooled down, then the CPU is overheating and goes into thermal shutdown. This is caused by either a faulty fan or the fan and heatsink assembly is clogged with dust.
If this is not fixed then eventually the CPU will fail completely.
Check the fan to see if it spins freely if not then replace the fan.
If the fan and heatsink is clogged with dust then remove the dust from the fan and heatsink fins.

Fan noisy

Two common factors why CPU fans are noisy:

1. The collected dusts under your fans.
2. Your computer is running over the neutral power that your Power supply can handle, i.e. overclocking, high graphical games and videos.

solutions:
1. clean fans (power supply fans, exhaust and others)
2. replace CPU fans with branded and proven to be quite fans.. it may be an additional cost but proves to be very silent. :)

SONY VGNFJ270 LAPTOP BECOMES HOT AND GIVES LOT OF NOISE

If the fan is noisy and the laptop is running hot, then most likely the fan is faulty and spinning slowly. Therefore the fan is not providing sufficent air flow to cool the laptop's CPU. The fan needs to be replaced and possibly the heatsink assembly needs cleaned to remove dust buildup.

My CPU is making lot of noise especially when I'm using programs like Adobe reader

The CPU wont make noise unless its frying. So its either your hard drives, cd drives, or your fans.
If its your fans i sugest buying newer "Cool Master" fans that are powerful but less noisy
