Hi,
a 6ya Mechanic can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.
click here to Talk to a Mechanic (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

My HT-E5400 disk tray opens and closes without command being selected.

You may be triggering that action by selecting some other device using the remote. For example, the same remote I use for the VCR also causes the DVD player tray to open and close.

Bedlocker won't open

I read on another forum where they had a problem with some of their Brake Mechanisms failing.
"Easy fix. Just take 3 screws out from the side of the motor and the unit comes right off. The brake is added so that the bedlocker stays locked in-place once the pressure sensor shuts off the motor. Without it, the cover may activate with vibration of the moving vehicle."

Hand remote reprogram

First step: check the voltage of the remote's battery, or install a known good battery.

Second step: try reprogramming your remote(s), especially if you have more than one remote and none of them work. Instructions are in your owner's manual, or you can get an online pdf version from the following site: motorcraftservice com

Third step: open the remote and look for any stuck/sticky buttons or loose/broken electrical connections. Clean buttons with circuit board cleaner (hardware stores or Radio Shack). Closely examine the circuit board for any cracks in solder connections, which often develop over time (in many electrical gizmos, not just remote controls). If any solder joints look suspect, re-solder them by BRIEFLY touching the tip of a 25- or 30-watt to the joint, just long enough to let the solder re-flow. (If you don't have any soldering experience, this should be a last resort, because it's fairly easy to mess up and damage the circuit board.)

Fourth step: if all this sounds like too much hassle, buy a new remote. I've seen aftermarket versions online for less than $30.

I have 2 liftmaster 3245. The hand held remotes were working fine then stopped. I replaced the batteries and turned of all electrical/RIF close by. Still not working. Both cars operate the doors with no...

You need to reprogram the remotes by briefly pushing the learn button on the garage door opener until it flashes once, then release the button on the garage door opener.

Now press the remote button once until you hear the garage door opener click, now press the remote button once again and the remote should be programmed to work for that garage door opener.

DO NOT press and hold the garage door opener learn button for more than 10 seconds or you'll erase all programs and have to relearn all the remotes, including your car ones.

Hope you found this very helpful and best regards.

Garage Door Wont Close Craftsman 1/2 HP (1998)

What it is is the electric beams at the door are getting blinded buy the sun or out of line. They are the two black boxes on both sides of the door about a foot from the ground. Put a piece of card board in front of them not blocking the beam dut to block the sun. All that they are is safety beams for kids so they do not get hurt. If you have to move them to the top where the sun will not hit them. Sorry to say though you can not remove them all the way. Also make sure the lite on them is not blinking if so they are out of line.

Craftsman garage door opener - Clicking/blinking - no open/close

First, check the safety eyes. There should be a light on each eye that is on. If not, realign the eyes. If that does not work, check the force settings. They are the blue adjustment screws. They should be set on 4-5. Do not go above 6 or there is a problem with either the door or opener, or both. If this does not work check all of the wiring on the back of the opener. 1 should be a red wire, 2 should be three white wires and 3 should be two black wires. Check the wiring to the wall button. the back of the button indicates red and white screws. To take off the wall button you will have to remove the big white button if you have the "deluxe wall control" If this does not fix it, respond with more info on door position and what happens with remotes and wall button.

Garage door opened, won't close

If you can press and hold the wall button and the door will go down, you have a photo eye issue. Check the photo eyes at the bottom of the door.
