Question about RTO Atwood DSI-RV Water Heater-6 Gallon

Trailmanor water heater throws breaker when running on electric.

We have a brand new Trailmanor trailer. On our maiden voyage the heater ran on electricity for a day and a half and threw the breaker. Since then if I cut it on using electricity the breaker throws. It runs fine on gas. The trailer is new but it's an 08 and been sitting at the dealership. Could the element be corroded already? The dealership is in another state and would be easier and cheaper for me to fix it.

How to turn on the water heater using electric not prophane

You can not convert a water heater from gas to electric. You will have to replace it and have an electrician run a 30 amp 220 volt circuit to your new water heater and make the connection.

Ecosmart ECO11 throws breaker halfway through the shower

You could have a weak breaker, Check the amp draw on the breaker while the heater is running and if it is not pulling more amps than the breaker is rated for replace the breaker, If it is pulling more amps than it is rated for you have a element or thermostat going out and causing to high of a amp draw throwing the breaker. Good Luck

My suburban dsi rv hot water keeps throwing breakers

Appears to be a short in tank circuit probably cause by a water leak in tank. These usually wear a rusty hole in the tank inside the cover and are not seen unless the thermostat covers are taken off. I would remove them and do a visual thoroughly. Anytime a fuse blows or a breaker trips is always a dead short unless you have a bad breaker. I would check those as well for vibrating, chattering noises, and/or smoking. If any of this persist, replace breaker. A melted heat element could trip them, but not usually for it leaves an open circuit instead of a shorted one.

Rheem 50 gallon Electric Water Heater 81V52D C repair ideas needed

It could be element shorted to ground through steel tank, so don't touch tank when breaker is ON.
Or you have undersized 12 gauge wire and 20 amp breaker and the heat has loosened breaker on the busbar. Breaker trips when heat exceeds breaker limit. Jiggle breaker and listen for crackling sound.

To restore hot water now:
Turn off circuit breaker, and open top cover then Push in reset button on top of heater to restore functionality. Put back insulation and factory cover.
To fix water heater: test and replace bad element.

We just installed a brand new Reliance electric water heater and there is no hot water or power.....tried the breaker.....help! Please!

what knowledge of electricity do you have? a hot water heater requires a 2 pole feed meaning you need a 3 wire 30 amp rated wire and it has to be on a 2 pole 30 amp breaker. first off do you have that currently installed?

I have a Atwood 10 gallon electric/ propane water heater on the Hornet travel trailer I purchased used. There are two switches on the wall, one is an on/off switch that lights up and the oither is just an...

The two switches control the water heater either in the gas or electric mode. The switch with the lights would be for the gas operation, and the switch without lights would be for the electric mode. Prior to operating either switch, make sure the water tank is full of water. Turn your hot water tap on, if water comes out, tank is full. Connect trailer to 110 Volt source, turn circuit breakers on, Place switch without lights to on position. If water does not heat in 45 minutes, Install new heat proble. The gas mode should be repaired by someone that is familiar with that system. Atwood can provide you with a local service center.
