  • I had the BMW dealer change the fluid in my manual trans and rear differential, made shifting much smoother. The BMW dealer said the fluid was a lifetime type oil , but the BMW club said that you should change these fluids .

I have a 2006 BMW X5. When I put the car into any gear the gears are not recognized on the cluster/dashboard and the car would not move. After several attempts the car would not start.

Either the actuater is faulty or the gear box.some times the filter inside the gearbox needs to be replaced.Have a proffessional look at it.

I have a 2001 325se bmw with auto transmission. There is no transmission warning light but occasionally the car sticks in 4th gear & wont change up to 5th. When this happens there is a bad vibration...

i would say more like a recon gearbox ,or rip it out and fit a manual gearbox ,No parts are available for this gearbox well in europe anyway so its a complete exchange gearbox from dealer cost in excess of 2500 euros so it could be time to trade it in quick for a newer model

Bmw x5 slow gear change

this is normal to some extent to try and warm up the tranny to opp temperature as soon as possible. make sure the vehicle had the latest software installed in the transmission as this could also cause a delayed shift when cold.

Change automatic transmission fluid and filter first, sometimes can solve this problem.

or chage c-90 oil for your gear box and at the same time, change the clutch plate.
