Problems with Windows Explorer Search tool (Windows 7 )

When I perform a SEARCH in my computer using WINDOWS EXPLORER, if I search for: DWG2001145RevE will find 10 documents , which is fine, but... when I search only for the number part of this text, this is, I type only 2001145, then it will NOT find anything!!!. Why is this happening? As you can see it is not an indexing problem, meaning... the file DWG2001145RevE.pdf is in my computer and Windows Explorer can find it, but when I type only the number portion of the file name, it can not find it.... the same happen with many other files.... Does anyone has same problem?

If you search by only a part of the filename you have to add a star on the part you cut.
See example:
If you search for 2001145, nothing will happen - however if you search for *2001145* it will show you "everything" that includes that number.

SEARCH OF WINDOWS EXPLORER NOT WORKING CORRECTLY

When you are using partial search terms you are best to use the wildcards. ie '*'
You would probably get the same issue searching using 'wg' or 'rev', but you would probably find the file if you searched with 'dw' for instance.
Windows search looks for a filename matching your term. SO without wildcards it is looking for a filename that begins with '2001145'.
So if you want to search for a file name containing 2001145 somewhere in the name, then put the wildcard before and after and it will return all files with that number(or whatever other term you use) in it.

Missing tool bar when I uploaded to Explorer 7. I cant click on tools to get it back because I dont have a tool bar to acces

Try to uninstall IE7. Once it's removed, restart your computer then it will revert back to the older version IE6. After that you can opt to install IE7 again or much better a newer version like 8 or 9.

To uninstall IE7, kindly follow these steps:
  1. Close all programs.
  2. Click Start and then click Control Panel.
  3. Click Uninstall a Program under the Programs category
  4. In the Tasks pane, click View installed updates.
  5. In the list of installed updates, double-click Windows Internet Explorer 7. In the Uninstall an update dialog box, click Yes.

Note If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type the password, or click Continue.
  6. Follow the instructions to uninstall Internet Explorer 7.
  7. When the uninstall program is finished, restart your computer.
  8. After you restart your computer, open Internet Explorer. Click Help>About Internet Explorer and check if it's on version 6. If it is then proceed with upgrading to a higher version again.

    Hope this helps.

Just fixed this problem for a friend.

Open Internet Explorer, go to the netflix site, click on Tools, Internet options, Security, click on the green Checkmark (Trusted Sites), click sites, then uncheck the box below for require server verification (HTTPS), then click add, this should add www.netflix.com in the box below. You do not say which version of Windows you are using or the version of Internet Explorer so here is a general idea to fix.

If you are running XP or Vista download the new version IE8 and install it. Here is the link:
