I would first of all try removing the keyboard, and re-seating the connection cable. If that doesn't cure the problem you may need to replace the keyboard altogether.

Try function and scroll lock at the same time the try to enter the password, if this does not reset your keyboard, remove the power and the battery for 3 minutes then turn it back on and try again.

Check the keyboard setting from the control panel. If the settings are right so it is a hardware problem.

The keyboard is recognised by the computer and more or less functions as it should, however various keys do not seem to function, for example the enter key and backspace key have no effect when pressed. ...

Hello,

The 'Enter' and 'Backspace' are two of the most essential keys on a keyboard. It is highly unlikely that they would fail due to a software or driver problem.

It really sounds like the keyboard is actually defective.

I suggest you try plugging it in to another computer. If the same keys are failing the keyboard is defective.

Hope this helps.

My lap some button are not working ,like enter

Hi! The problem could be on the keyboard itself. You will have to replace the keyboard to make all the keys to function. Once replaced they'll all be back to normal. Hope this helps and have a good one!

Where is the delete button?

There isn't a 'delete' button like you'd find on the extended keyboard, if you hold function while pressing backspace it will function as a delete key. (My MacBook's backspace is labeled 'delete' but is a standard backspace.)

Answer: Function + Backspace = Delete

I hope this is helpful and works for you. If I didn't fully answer your question, please let me know and I will do my best to add or clarify my response. If this was helpful, please rate my answer with 5 thumbs up.

Font size issue

Are you trying to print a two-line label?
If there are two lines of text, they are printed in size 1, regardeless the size you set.

Here is the procedure, described in the manual you can download from here:
http://welcome.solutions.brother.com/BSC/public/files/dlf/docp000113/pt1180ug01usen.pdf

Note:
• If there are two lines of text, they are printed with the SIZE1 setting applied,
regardless of the selected size setting.
• To quit the following procedure at any time without making any changes, press [BS/Clear] key.

1 Press [Function].
2 Press [<] and [>] until SIZE is displayed, and then press [Function] or [Backspace]. The current size setting appears in the display.
3 Press [<] and [>] and until the desired size setting is displayed.
4 Press [Function] (or [Backspace] ) to apply the selected size setting to the text.

Changing the Cursor Appearance

I had this same problem on my TI 89... You must have accidentally set your calculator to insert mode. To switch it back to the thin cursor, input the following keystrokes... Go to the "2nd" key to enter second function mode. Then press the button with an arrow on it pointing to the left(The key that you use to backspace). Do you see the "INS" lettering above the backspace key? There's your solution :-)
