Question about Welding Tools
I used to be able to weld badass welds on any size of metal with my Lincoln weld pak 100. now its like it is stuck in the A setting when I am using it in the D setting, the wire speed is down low between 2 and 3 and nocking the trigger back. and I noticed its blowen the 20 amp breaker at the fuse box after 5 mins of welding, and the thermal switch doesn\'t seam to be working when U push it in it stays out do U think the thermal switch is the problem?
I believe your voltage control rheostat (potentiometer) must be worn out. Check your owner's manual for the part number and request it, it's not expensive and it is an easy part to replace. If you are doing that would be a good idea to do the same for your speed control rheostat.
Or clean them if you can, take off all the carbon particles that it build up with the time.
