Star micronic sp700 ethernet problem

Star Micronic SP700 ethernet connected via local area network. Set static ip address to 10.0.0.74 and it works most of the time. However, sometimes it won't print and it has to be turned off and back on - then it prints what it was supposed to and works again for a bit. Once I set the ip address to the static 10.0.0.74, I saved the configuration at the Star ip set up address 192.168.2.213. However, now I am not able to get into 192.168.2.213 anymore. I can't ping it on any computer. I want to set the host disconnect message for the kitchen to enable so they know when a ticket hasn't come in. However, I can't get into the ip address. Help! Thanks. Peace. Michele

We tried everything and right before he said I could try downgrading the software or firmware, he suggested UNCHECKING BI-DIRECTIONAL - Voila! It works beatifully! Thanks for all the help!

10.x.x.x subnet can't see 192.x.x.x network. There must be manufacture reset button on the Star micronics sp700?. You can configured your laptop/computer IP to 192.168.2.100 (not the same as printer) than use crossover ethernet cable (you can find it in best buy), connected directly between your laptop and printer, you should be able to see it on your browser now.

Most people big mistake when assigned static ip. First you need to reserve that IP on your router so it doesn't get pickup by DHCP and assigned to another devices.

Well, that makes sense. However, my pc is one of our restaurant POS terminals. It has both a wireless network for our guests and a lan (10.0.0.100) for the inside terminals to talk to each other for the POS system. My other ethernet (Epson) printer works fine for years and then all of a sudden stops printing sometimes. However, it happens a lot less than the brand new Star Micronics. Yes, there is a reset button. However, when I reset it and enter that IP in the utility, still nothing. My pc already has a 192.168.x.x for the wifi, but it still can go to the printer site. As to reserving, I don't know what that means. I've disconnected the new printer, reconnected the old Epson and at least that one only stops on occasion. What is happening is that the printer is constantly going offline. When it does, I turn it off and back on. It stays online for a bit and then goes offline again. Does that information change anything? Thanks

Ethernet and wireless not working

The wireless sounds like its not working or the drivers are not installed.

The Ethernet port may have been programmed with a static IP address or you do not have a DHCP on the network your plugging into.
open the network and sharing centre by right clicking on the network icon by the clock.

Then local area network.
Then properties.

Then internet protocol version 4 (TCP/IPv4)
The display should look like this :-

How do i connect to apples time machine?

You can manually configure the time machine to accept wireless signal from the router or extender. If you setup WEP on the router or extender, make sure you setup WEP on the time machine as well.
For instructions in setting up wireless settings of Time Capsule click on this link -->>

Hope this works for you.

Netgear DGN 2000 won't connect to internet by cable / wifi works

Might I suggest looking at the routers configuration. This can be done by typing in 192.168.1.1 into your web browser. Typically the default log in is: User Admin, Password is password. You want DHCP set on. Save all your settings. Then reset to factory default. There should be a reset button on the router. This will reset it to when it was new- any changes you made will be gone.

Wireless switch on my pc is on but cant connect Work with ethernet cable plugged in.Are there any settings?

Things to try:

1. Plug in the ethernet cable then restart the laptop.

2. Right click on your local area connection and make sure its enabled

3. Make sure your wireless adapter is disabled.

4. Check if you need a static ip address on your work network. and if so have them assign you an ip address for your laptop.

5 Test your computers ethernet port on another wired network to make sure that it is good.

6. Get a usb to ethernet adapter for your laptop if your ethernet port is bad on your laptop.

Cannot access the URL addres http://192.168.0.30 (page cannot be displayed) any suggestions?

check your IP address and see if the computer you are using is on the same subnet. your IP must be 192.168.0.xx where xx is any number. if you get a different IP address, use a static IP address between 192.168.0.31 to 192.168.0.40

how to check IP:
click Start - Control Panel - Network Connections - right click Local Area Connections - click Status - Details.

how to use static IP:
click Start - Control Panel - Network Connections - right click Local Area Connections - click Status - Properties - TCP/IP - choose Static - use any IP address in the range above.

click apply and try to access your repeater again. I am assuming that you have given the correct IP of your repeater.

Connecting both ethernet and wireless

Yes, you should be able to do that. Check to see if your Network Card is set for DHCP and not a static IP. Click on Network Connection in the control panel and then right click and go to properties on your Local Area Connection. Then click on TCP/IP and then Properties.

Make sure both are set to obtain an IP address and DNS automatically. Also try all Lan Ports and a different network cable just in case.

DPR-1260 ... prints but cannot access web config page

To get into the web configuration you need to know your firmware on the DPR-1260. If it is 1.12, us http://dlinkps-xxxxxx where the X's are the last 6 number of the mac address. If it is 1.20 and up, use http://dlink-xxxxxx, where the x's are the last 6 number of the mac address. If you do set it up as DHCP or static and know the ip address of the print server just type in the ip address of the print server on the address bar.
