Open the left cover, you will find 2 solenoids near to the front. When printing you the vertical & horizontal should be working, if not then you will have to clean the solenoids, remove the sticky material around the hole area, apply some WD40 then test it again.

Paper wont load

The obvious thing is to turn the printer off, remove paper tray, take out the paper, look to see if anything clearly amiss with either the printer or the paper tray itself, reflll the paper tray with a moderate quantity of preferably fresh paper - though this should not matter - and replace the newly-loaded tray. Turn the printer back on and see if it works or not. You may also try single sheet manual feed if this available for your printer.

Hi the machine could be defaulted to print from the main trays if you have the same type paper being fed from the manual feed same size paper then it will automatically take it from the default trays
IF you take the paper out of the trays and put it only in the manual feed will it print and take it from the manual feed also you have to tell the machine when you use the manual feed what size and type of paper is in the manual feed once you tell it what paper and type of paper like card stock you then need to make sure when you go to print that it is set on your computer with manual feed and type of paper must match what is set on machine

Canon Pixma MX850 says it's out of paper when there is paper

The feed switch changes the paper feed from rear feed to tray feed (paper tray is under the output bin). If you have paper in the rear feed, the green light should be on top of the printer icon left of the feed switch. If you have paper in the tray, the light should be on the bottom of the printer icon.

Manually feeding paper

Even if manual feeding is an option the paper must be able to fit the paper tray in order to feed it through the printer.

HP P3005 Will not pull from Tray 1

Click File > Print > Properties to check your settings.
To verify that tray 1 is working, put paper in tray 1. Press green check until you see Information Menu. Scroll using arrows until you see Print Menu Map then press green check. If it prints from tray 1, your problem is not with the printer, but with the PC settings.

i has follow this step, but need to press green check button to resume print menu map.

Paper feed problem

You need new feed components. Feed rollers and retard rollers or pads that stop multisheet feeds.

Check Rec Paper

First power off the machine. Facing the machine from the front, remove the rear tray extension that holds the paper and "feel your way" down into the right side of the of the back paper tray. You should feel a out-of-round feed roller. With a little effort you can rotate this around. Take a terry like cloth and dampen it with water and clean this roller. Before puttin any paper back into the tray, turn the machine back on so the paper feed assembly will return to the home position.

Will not feed paper

There could be a small piece of paper or other matter blocking the feed. Try feeding a piece of thin card- simple load and eject don't try to print anything. Or Put a vacuum nozzle in the slot to suck any debris out. Come back for more advice if this is not the answer.
