F27 seems to be the latest BIOS for your device.

Testimonial: "I was afreaid that would be the case, However i did seem to find an alternative solution to the issue i was facing. i was experiencing terrible lagging after installing Win7. after some looking around (like i should have done first) i noticed that there is STILL an issue with smpnetwk.exe that causes my processor to be over worked and i just wasnt going to have that. I have no need to share my media because well lets be honest. Some of it isnt appropriate. Hence, disabled. So. Thank you for your help and i am grateful for your time good sir or madam! Good Day!"

SOURCE: dv6000 will not startup ,Black screen , hd isnit being accessed

When you first turn the laptop on is there a HP splash screen? Can you enter the BIOS (normally by tapping F2 or Del key). If so then it would seem the BIOS updated OK. If when you turn it on there is nothing the BIOS flash probably went wrong and the machine will need a new BIOS flash chip installed.
If you can access BIOS then it may be a simple problem that the new BIOS reverted to default values. The most common issue would be the boot mode of the HDD. Look through the BIOS menus and there should be an option for boot which will say AHCI/IDE/Compatibility. Try changing it to another option, save and exit BIOS and see if that helps. Try this for each option.
Alternatively tap F8 continuously when you turn the laptop on and see if the advanced boot menu appears, if it does try selecting Safe mode with networking.
Finally to test if the HDD is actually working, try downloading Hiren's BootCD and boot to it. Then run some HDD diagnostics to see if the HDD is operating correctly.
Hope this helps,

SOURCE: Can i install windows-xp on

Before install, save externally a Windows 7 backup image: Backup Complete Computer - Create an Image Backup
Next rightclick the C and D drives, select Properties, write down the size and type in a name for each.
Boot the XP installer, at the "Where do you want to install Windows" screen determine which is C or D by position in list, size and label if given. Once you are certain which is D, click on it to install.
You may need to use the XP installer to delete the D partition, create again, then full format NTFS as the partitioning is slightly different with XP.

Update bios pavillion

The flash bios is available at hp.com and always run the utility, if available, with an OS that has no anti virus programme on it, otherwise it may screw up the new bios and the motherboard will never work again!

MS-7123 BIOS Update

All you need is to get to the command prompt. Try hitting F8 during boot and choose Safe Mode with Command prompt. From there you need to navigate to where the file is. Like C or D dive. Here is where you need to know simple DOS commands. Simplest way is to put the update at the root. That's the first folder so you don;t have to change directories.

It is very important that you follow directions and make a backup. Flashing the BIOS can be very dangerous, that is why DOS is where it should be done.

This will help you get started, but it is up to you to do your homework, because systems very so much. GL

My Acer laptop will not boot up.

You may have a corrupted video driver due to an update. For some Acers, press and hold F10 when starting the computer. Two beeps will mean that the bios settings have been restored and the machine may boot correctly. If you can enter the BIOS via F2, F1, F10, ESC or DEL, then find the area for display and change it to low resolution then save and restart your computer. Once running, you will need to uninstall the current video driver and have the computer install a new one.

I upgraded my hp pavilion 9715nr notebook to windows 7 and need the bios and all the drivers for it

The BIOS, which stands for Basic Input-Output System, is the software that allows your operating system to work with your computer hardware. The BIOS software is stored on a separate chip that receives constant power from a small battery, called the CMOS battery. This battery allows the BIOS to process information, such as the system time, even when the computer is unplugged. HP releases updates for the BIOS on its Pavilion computers periodically, and it is important that you apply these updates to your computer to ensure a smoothly running system.

Restart the computer. Press the "F10" key when the HP logo appears on the screen. This is the hot key that allows you to access the BIOS. Locate the version of the BIOS installed on your system on the main BIOS screen. Press "F10" and select "Yes" to exit the BIOS. b> Upgrading Your BIOS b> Go to the HP Software and Drivers page in your Web browser. (See Below.) http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/static_software_select?swlinkmsg=100&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&docname=c01087277 Enter the model number of your Pavilion, which will be on the sticker containing the serial number, located on the bottom or rear of the computer, then press "Enter." Select the operating system that your notebook is currently running. Locate WinFlash for HP Notebook System BIOS in the BIOS section of the page. Verify that the version offered is later than the version currently installed on your Pavilion and download the file, using the "Download Only" option. Locate and double-click the file that was downloaded from the HP Software and Drivers page to begin the BIOS update. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the installation.

This will automatically search for and find the correct driver you will have to update every driver individually once you update you might be asked whether you want to restart or make a system restore point.

Click no to both of these then continue updating each driver free then restart once all of the drivers have been updated.

Restart your laptop, and immediately press DELETE to enter BIOS setup. Select "Load BIOS Defaults". Navigate through the menus;
you should see "auto-detect disk-drive". Run that utility.
Save the updated BIOS settings, and exit from BIOS-setup.

If all else fails, take the computer to a qualified technician.
It's probably just a 10-minute "fix" for an expert.

It has to have SATA Hard Drive Connector DFHS22FR685, if you have this then I would try to format the hard drive to what your operating system is using, either NFTS or FAT32. The drive may not be properly formated for your system.
