Hi. We are trying to setup a phillips tv through a bt vision box please

  1. A TV aerial feed - The BT Vision box gets its digital TV signals over-the-air, so needs a TV aerial. This needs to be connected to the aerial input socket on the V-Box. There is an output RF aerial socket to allow you to connect an aerial feed to a TV if required.
  2. SCART lead - You need to make a connection from the Vision+ box to the TV using a SCART lead. If you have a HD TV set, you can also connect via an HDMI lead (not supplied).
  3. Connection to Broadband - You'll need to connect from the BT Vision+ box to a BT Broadband connection. This is done using the BT Home Hub. The Home Hub is the Broadband router supplied by BT, and it connects into to your phone line to give you Internet access-The most common way to make the connection, is to connect an Ethernet (networking) cable from the BT Vision+ box to one of the Ethernet ports on the Home Hub. If you can't make a direct connecting to the Home Hub, you can use powerline adapters to make the connection. The self-install kit includes two Powerline adapters to allow you to connect to the Home Hub if it's in a different room to the BT Vision+ Box.
  4. The BT Vision v-box has an additional scart socket, which can be connected to a video or dvd recorder.

How to connect my Sharp Aquos TV to my Dgtec HD box

It will depend on what output connections the box has. Some examples:

If coax to box and coax to set: in menu make sure set to Cable or Catv and put set on channel designed for this box (usually channel 3) and turn set and box on---with this connection set stays on a channel and box provides and changes channels.

If box has audio/video outs connect to one like it on the set , a input and put set to that input--turn box on and change channels.

Box and set of course both will be turned on.

HOW DO YOU CONNECT CABLE BOX

Connect a Cable Box to a Receiver:
1 Gather all your tools, parts and cables together before you start the connection process. Chances are you will need to connect several items at the same time, including your TV, audio system and TV cable receiver. Your cable box manual is likely to include a diagram of how to make the appropriate connections, so it's important that you read it before attempting any links.
2 Connect the output of the cable box to the input of the receiver. If you are connecting an audio system as well, make sure the audio output cables go directly into the receiver and, from there, to the cable box. Avoid direct connections; instead, go through the receiver for all secondary connections.
3 Select the correct jacks for sound and video. A newer model of receiver should offer several options, including analog TV out and DTV out. It should also offer an S-video and a service port. Depending on the type of cable box you use, one or more of the same jacks will be available there, too. When connecting both systems, make sure cables go between similar outputs.
4 Use an S-video connection cable to link your TV with your cable box. S-video connection cables allow you to preserve good quality in both image and audio. Most cable boxes come with S-video connection cables, but you can get them at any electronics store. Once you have them, simply connect both ends to the right output. It'll be easy to identify, because it's usually the only round one available.
5 Plug the TV, cable box and receiver into an electrical outlet to make sure everything is working properly. If you are getting static or interference, you may need to tighten the connections or change the cables.

The Casablanca 88U33M Scandia Ceiling Fan only has three wires, a black, a white, and a green wire (ground). How do you wire the fan and light on seperate switches?

If you want to control both the light and the fan using 3-ways, then just wire 2 sets of the 3-way circuits. For this you need two sets of 3-wire between the switches, and one 3-wire cable from the switch location to the fan/light box.

At box #1 (a 2 gang box), you will run a power cable (marked cable #1) into it. From there you run 2 sets of 3-wire cables (identified as cable #2 & cable #3) to the other switch location, which will also be a 2-gang box (box #2).

Also from box #1, you will run a 3-wire cable (cable #4) to the fan/light box (box #3).

Hook up is as follows:

Box #3: connect black of cable #4 to black (fan), connect red of cable #4 to blue (light), connect white of cable #4 to white (fan/light), and connect the bare to the green.

Box #2: Connect white of cable #2 to identified terminal on 1st 3-way switch (#3). Connect red & black of cable #2 to the remaining screws of 3-way switch #3. Next connect white of cable #3 to identified terminal of 2nd 3-way switch (#4), and connect black and red to remaining screws. Tie all grounds together and terminate to both switches.

At box #1, connect black from cable #1 to whites in cables #2 & #3, using a wirenut. Connect white in cable #1 to white in cable #4. Connect black and red in cable #2 to 3rd 3-way switch (#1) and connect black and red in cable #3 to 4th 3-way switch (#2). Connect black in cable #4 to identified terminal of 3-way switch #1, and connect red in cable #4 to identified terminal on 3-way switch #2. Tie all grounds together and to the switches

Im not sure how to hook the converter box up to it

For a digital to analog converter box, connect your antenna cable to the converter box. Then pick your output connection. Either set the TV to channel 3 or 4 and connect the coax out from the converter to the TV or connect the composite video (AV) to one of the A/V inputs on the TV (change the TV source to the appropriate input). The source is changed with the remote (TV/Video button).

If you have other devices like a VCR in the connection sequence, you could connect the converter box to the VCR (and record on channel 3 or 4) and then connect the VCR to the TV as above. You will be limited to recording and watching the same program unless you get another converter box or tuner.

Programming the remote will depend on the box. For other set top boxes, the connections will be very similar.

I hope this helps.

Sound from my tv card, skydude doesnt work on my hp laptop, vista home premium

You haven't mention about the connections you have with the SKYDUDE TV box. TV boxes usually have AV (audio and video) connections i.e., two seperate connections for audio and video signals. If you are using a set top box to connect to the tv box you can connect the "video out" of the set top box to the "video in" of the tv box using a cable. and "audio out" of the set top box to the "audio in" of the TV box using another cable. Some TV boxes don't have the "audio in" option. In that case you have to connect the "audio out" from the set top box directly to the "audio in" of the computer. This pin you can find just near the "speaker" and "mic" connections.

If you have an S-Video pin in your TV box, you can use an adopter wire to connect two "audio in" and one "video in" connections to the same pin. And you have to select S-Video option in the software installed.

If you have "RF in" option in your TV box, you can use use AV to RF converter to connect your set top box to the TV box.

Thank you,

Use only one box.
Connection should be:::Video Source(cable, antenne) connected to converter box:::::Converter box connected to VCR:::VCR connected to TV.
Try this connection and let me know how it goes.
Please rate this solution.

Display box keeps popping on and off on screen

Your display box continues to pop up because of the way your optimum box is connected to the back of your television. If you are connected with a coaxial cable from the box to the back of the tv, you will get that display box. The reason you are getting it because of the weak signal coming from your coaxial cable(which is the worst cable to use when connecting ANYTHING to ANY tv, especially a lcd tv). That cable is sending a fluctuating signal and your television is adjusting to that(hence the reason the display box comes up). Use composite cables(typical red, white, and yellow cables) to connect your box to your television and I guarantee your problem will be solved. Make sure you unplug that coaxial connection from your box to the television.
