Open a document on Microsoft

what are you tying to use to view the file ? is it windows file explorer that you are trying to open the file from. I suspect as I have a close family member who will go to a program like excel and then try and open say a word file via excel and wonder why it does not work.
or
You might be trying to open a later word version like docx and your word may only handle doc file types from earlier versions.
what version of word do you have and what is the file extension doc or docx ?
There may exist a converter from microsoft that will patch earlier word versions to allow it to open docx file types.

I just want to be able to enlarge my print size

  • Simply press and hold down the "control" key, while pressing the "plus sign" key. Be sure to keep the "control key" depressed while you press the "plus sign" key. Each repetition will enlarge the text. This can make reading small text SO much easier!
  • To return the text back to its original size (being polite to the next user), simply press, and hold down the "control" key and the "minus sign" key. Each repetition will decrease the text size

  • Log on to your computer and open the document you want to print. Click on the "Print Preview" button on the toolbar.
  • 2 Click on the "File" menu and choose "Print Preview" from the drop-down list if the "Print Preview" button is not available. The "Print Preview" function will show you exactly what the finished print will look like.
  • 3 Click the "Close" button to close the Print Preview window, then highlight the entire document and click on the "Format" menu. Choose "Font" from the drop-down list and change the font.
  • 4 Click the "Print Preview" button again to see the finished print. Continue to adjust the font size until the print looks good

Open "Notepad" or "Wordpad" and then try to type from a new document. If it's ok, yes, the Microsoft Word program is bad. If it doesn't, then you might have a problem with your keyboard. Try the "On-Screen" keyboard to see if that works.

My Keyboard won't type on Word program.

It seems like your trying to type into a locked document, which means that your keyboard is working, its not the issue, the issue is the spesific file which is locked, try another document / file or turn off the lock from office settings if you can find it.

    Microsoft excell

If you go to MY RECENT DOCUMENTS, (it should be in C:\\Documents & Settings) you chould see the Excel document that you are trying to open. Double click on that document and it should open.

Another way to get the document open is to do a search. Go to START, Search, For files and folders. Type in the name of the document you want to open and then you can open it as described above.

    Hope this helps Loringh
