SOURCE: Dryer heats but no condensing of steam

The cold water feeds for condenser cooling and for wash cycle drum fill are controlled by separate solenoid valves (manifolded together at the cold water inlet hose union). When the solenoid on my condenser coolant valve failed a couple of years back, I got symptoms like yours. A new pair of valves isn't expensive to buy and is a trivial job to fit. If this is what has been happening, suggest you also inspect the insides of your dryer fan and of the pump - neither of mine took really kindly to having been cooked for hours on end. Alastair.

I have a Rational iCombi ICP 6-HALF E 208/240V 1 PH (LM100BE).AXXXX and need help!

Question edited for clarity and correct model name.

Turn of the gas supply at the rear of the unit. Normally a standing pipe with a lever tap. The lever will be in line with the pipe, turn it 90'. Turn off the electrical power at the isolator box. Call for service. You can't fix these yourself. The only thing you can try is a Power Reset. Cut mains power for 15 minutes and turn it back on.

It's a whirlpool awz 7466. It runs fine, but I do not know which settings it needs to be on to dry my clothes normally. A small load will take at least 2 hours and makes laundry take forever. Any help

Hi Jennifer,

Two hours to dry a small load of laundry (even a large load for that matter) is way too long. You're wasting electricity too. The first thing you should do is consult the manual for the dryer to be sure you've selected the proper setting. The literature for this can be found here.

Consult this literature page 63 for the location and cleaning instructions for the (e) lint filter after each drying cycle and (h) heat exchanger at least monthly. Failure to clean both will result in long drying times. If you have the "Gentle" cycle selected, drying time will be prolonged, too.

Hopefully, these suggestions will help you solve the problem. Good luck!

Our brand new kitchen aid oven will blow hot air for up to a half hour after it has been turned off. This seems unusually long- what is the expected time of cooling off?

Hi,
That depends on the ambient temperature in the room..if your room is fairly warm you can expect it to take longer then if the room is cool...
I would say though that 1/2 hour is pretty normal...it is good to get the unit cooled down, the less time it is warm the longer it will last... heat kills ovens...even though they are made to take heat...

Oven heats very slowly

If your top burners work ok, regulator should be ok. Majority of times the fail part in the oven is the ignitor...turn oven on and check for a flame after 10 mins. small flame could mean a bad safety valve.
