Question about Office Equipment & Supplies

2 Answers

Hi, I have a toshiba Satellite A30 laptop, the battery went dead (I assume) and we purchased a replacement battery (part no. PA3250u-1BAS) but it's still having the same problem - the lights on the front panel flash briefly when I press the power button then the battery indicator starts flashing red intermittently; both on the new and old battery. One problem is, when my mom got the new battery she put it in immediately, plugged it in and turned it on without allowing any precharge time; the screen did turn on momentarily but then a low battery warning appeared and it shut down. did she kill the new battery or is something else going on??

Leave the battery in the computer and the computer plugged into a wall socket. overnight to recharge the battery. By next morning, the computer should work if the battery and computer are OK. If the battery is not charged, the charging circuit may be damaged (just old age). Or the computer may have reached its end.

with great difficulty, you may be in luck and find an online guide with video on youtube.
There is a service guide for the A30, this should help with stripping the laptop, it takes a while to load, http://tim.id.au/laptops/toshiba/satellite%20a30.pdf

My battery doesnt hold a charge

That means that you will be needing a new battery. I would suggest that when you get a new battery (hopefully from the manufacturer) What you should do it charge it, and don't recharge it untill it has completely dead. That will help to preserve the battery longer.

My Toshiba Satellite A30 laptop keeps switching off when charging. It works fine when on the battery but seems to overheat when I use it whilst charging the battery. Can you help ?

I would suggest that you try it with another AC adapter first, because it seems the adapter is faulty and therefore supplying more current into the laptop than necessary.
If it works perfectly with another AC Adapter, then you might just have to change your AC Adapter.
Hope it helps.
Goodluck!

Hi,

certain laptops rely on a battery being present.
Or a battery that holds charge.
i,d suggest refering to the user manual, or go on-line to the manufacturers website.
the laptop may be in hibernation/sleep mode. or require a hard reset.
visit toshibas support site for further details and faqs ( frequently asked questions )

Toshiba Satellite 2410-PS241L laptop does not start.

Plug it into the electrical outlet and then turn on your laptop. if it comes on and works fine, then your battery is just simply dead, and if it will charge, just needs to charge. If not, then you are going to have to replace your battery. But assuming all of this is true, and your laptop will power on when using your electrical outlet, then yes, feel free to use it whenver you like when plugged in.
