My asus does not recognise removable compacflash card

did you check to make sure that the usb is installed and pulled in the right spot on board or if the flashdrive is anygood?

may be the port does not support it , try inserting it to a card reader and plug the usb card reader to your laptop .

The P850 is specified to use SD cards, not SDHC cards. SD cards max out at 2GB.

If it's a new card, go into the menu and find "format"...follow the on-screen instructions. If there are pics on the card, download them first using a card reader if necessary.

Possibly a band Reader.. one thing you can do is test to see if it reads other types of memory cards such as panasonic or kingston. If those do not work then it may be a bad card reader..

Install the drivers first before installing the card in the slot , then insert the card adapter until you know you have securley fitted in the slot ,

Not all of them do-BUT, it took me a while to find the ones on mine. The curved area, just to the left of where you put in your blue ray disks, slides up (on mine, anyway) it took me two days to find it. The manuals are not very specific as to showing you where it is. In mine-an older PS3, with an older set of manuals- the flash card slots were concidered as more of an after thought by sony-I'm sure they have corrected the manuals with the latest PS3 manuals.
