Red and yellow streaks appear in scans, always in the same location. The scanner was cleaned but the repair person could not find any problem with the equipment. Yet the streaks persist. How do I resolve...

execute a calibration to correct the wrong color:
  1. place your photo on the scanner, with a distance of 0.25 inch from the edge of the glass
  2. open Epson scan and select Professionnal Mode
  3. select the document source
  4. select the image type
  5. uncheck thumbnail then click Prevew
  6. crop the area of the image
  7. Click zoom to fine tune the area you see the streaks
  8. select the resolution of 72 dpi
  9. scan your photo

if the problem still not solved, you need to change the scanner unit , there are many dead pixels.

My Hp Color laserjet 2605 was not working some colors (yellow, megeanta) so how to resolve this problem ? all color tones are new ! i would pinted test page black and cyan was ok

This is a common problem with this model of printer. The scanner optic degeneration is due to dust buildup on mirrors and lenses. Since the most vulnerable mirror reflects its laser beam to the magenta and yellow toner cartridges, red tones are the first to show fading. Colors shift: purples turn blue and oranges turn yellow. The printer optics will need to be cleaned by a compliant technician to resolve this issue as it means dismantling your printer and cleaning the mirrors and lenses in the optic section to fix the problem.

My scanner hp3570c has developed this problem since some time now, it scans but the white background is always in some megenta tone and the mater appears in green and blue. please advice what the problem...

you need to depress the original onto the scanner it could be the scanner is not fully resting on the flat surface, or not fully closed, say for example there is a big gap on the scanner and the white plate, try scanning a single sheet only and see if you have the same prob. i assume you are scanning a book or thick material or something, the colored images you see is the reflection of the scanner that goes astray from the actual images that needs to be scanned, the light that was exposed without the white plate reflected was converted into Green and Blue, pls try .

Have long experince with PixEdit program using Kodaks. PixEdit usually comes around it after a firmware upgrade on the scanner. Not sure about this specific model but at least OK on other models of Kodak.
