Question about Panasonic DMR-ES30 DVD Recorder/VCR
Please help. My Panasonic DMR-ES30 crashed during dubbing a VHS tape and switched itself off. I replugged it all and it started, working and recording OK separately, but refusing to dub the tape with the error Cannot dub. VHS side is busy. Also check standby mode for timer recording on VHS. (Enter/Return) I tried a different video tape and a different DVD, same thing. The dubbing button just flashes a few times and nothing happens. As if the system still thinks it is recording from before the crash. Any ideas? Thank you in advance

This is either a software bug on this system or a setting in the menu that is set to shut down after every disc burn. Have you gone through the menu / setup of the dvd player to look for such an option? I am not seeing one in any documentation but that is the only thing that makes sense. Either that or you have a glitchy version of the software on the system, which is almost a manufacturing defect...
