Reset default camera says busy

Give the camera some time. Don't remove the battery till the reset is done. I hope your battery was charged before you started the reset.
If the battery runs out of power, you must charge it comlpete, before putting it in again. I hope the reset went well. If not only try a reset with a fully charged battery.

Reset factory settings

  1. Hello please try the below steps to reset the printer:
    1. Hold down the "Resume" button on your Canon printer for one to two minutes, and then release the button. In some instances, this may reset the printer automatically.
    2. Unplug the power cable from the back of the Canon printer if the printer did not reset when you held down the "Resume" button. Hold the power button down and plug the power cable back into the Canon printer. Do not release the power button.
    3. Press the "Resume" button on the Canon printer two times and release the Canon's power button. The Canon printer resets to the factory settings and the ink level should appear full.
If you will need more help you can download the service manual for canon ip6000d from the below link:

If the cartridge is truely not low, use this reset to reset the level indicator.

1. Disconnect the power cable.
2. Hold down "On/Off" button.
3. Reconnect the power cable.
4. With the power button still down, press the "Stop/Reset" button twice.
5. Release the "On/Off" button.
6. The printer is now in "factory mode".
- wait until "idle" is displayed.
7. Press the right arrow button (next to the "OK" button) repeatedly until "Shipping Mode 3" is displayed.
8. Press the "OK" Button
9. Wait until "Without Cleaning" is displayed and then presss the "Stop/Reset" button once. (I pressed the ok button after Stop/Reset button on my MP470).
10. A test page should print.
11. Open the cover.
- the cartridges should position themselves at the far left - the cartridge removal location.
12. Disconnect the power cable.
13. Remove both cartridges.
14. Close the cover.
15. Reconnect the power cable.
16. Press the "On/Off" button once.
17. Wait until a "Replace Cartridges" message is displayed.
- insert cartridges.
18. Wait until the printer is operating in its normal mode. The display shows the normal start menu (ie: Copy).
The ink levels have been reset.
- check by going to printer>properties>maintenance>view printer status

If the first method cannot be used, use this one:

I need to buy all new ink cartridges. They are rather expensive so I would like to know if I can just buy one color- black. Will this work ? THanks!

Canon cartridges can be refilled. I buy my ink on ebay from user - dprintersink - the ink comes with full instructions and are easy to fill.

Sometimes you need to reset your print counter. I'll give the reset instructions now, so you will be ready if it is needed. These will work on many Canon models.

How do I restore factory settings or reset Canon MF8180c. No errors are displayed. Printer won't print on network or USB.

This unit should print on USB regardless of how the machine settings are. You will need to install the driver on your computer, available as a download on the Canon web site.
Setting up the unit for a network can be involved, and depends on how you have your computers networked.
`resetting' the factory settings will not solve either issue.

How can i reset the Ink Level on Canon MP240

Here are three methods that have worked on Canon printers. Have no fear. None of these will cause damage if they do not reset the ink counter. Once reset you will have to monitor the cartridges by weight, as the system will always show them to be full.

The first is basically a modified version posted for the MP460.

(I pressed the ok button after Stop/Reset button on my MP470 to get the test sheet).

No display at all. But able to take pictures with Canon A75

Sounds like you might have accidentally turned the display off. Turn on the camera and press the DISP button once on the back of your camera.
