Turn the camera on and activate the menu. Look for a menu option similar to "Image Storage" and either choose the card or auto. Save your choice and exit the menu. You will most likely have to format the card. Again, activate the menu and navigate to the FORMAT command and format the card. The camera must format the card, not a computer. Now when you take photos, they will be saved to the card.

If you saved the pictures to your cameras built in memory, chances are that you cant transfer the pictures from the camera straight to the memory card. You have to FIRST transfer them to your computer and THAN from your computer to your memory card.
once you have the memory card in, turn on your camera. press the "play" button, if you have some pics on ur memory card you will see these. press the menu/ok button and scroll down until you get to "copy." click on copy and then choose internal to memory card...then choose individual pics or everything that is in ur internal memory. hope this helps!
ok I figured out how to do it! put the memory card into the camera, then go to view the pictures. Then press the menu button and scroll until you see the copy button. Then you will see the option to copy from camera to card, or card to camera. Press the option to copy from camera to card and press select all....(or whichever pictures you want copied...I wanted all pictures copied). Then voila! it takes a few seconds to copy from the camera to the card, and there you have it! :)
You need to use a card reader which, despite the name, lets you write to the card. Once the card is plugged into the reader, it will appear to your computer as another hard drive, and you can transfer files the same way you usually transfer files.
Be aware that the camera may not display any pictures that were not taken with the camera, or were edited in any way.
Hi there. Here is how you do it.
Go into the menu and navigate to the Copy screen.
Choose an option. One is to copy pictures from the camera's internal memory to the SD card, and the other is copy from the SD card to the camera's internal memory. Then press OK. On the next screen, you have two option choices, either copy all images, or selected images.
Hope that helps.
Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer. The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Nikon Transfer or Picasa.
