Unallocated means the SD card has either
a. Never been formatted (highly unlikely)
b. Corrupted and lost it's format.
You can format it again with the default settings.

Fat32 is a good choice for Phones, PC data and images.
Good luck!

My SanDisk 12 card reader will not read microSD HD in the adapter provided. I went to another adapter and I had the same failure to read. Is there a diver to fix this?

If you by chance reformatted your 2GB micro SD card, then you probably erased the ID letter that Windows uses to mount your card. That can be fixed by going to "Disk management" and using "Change Drive Letter" you can assign another drive letter to that memory card and then windows will see it. You can find the path by clicking on "Help" and asking for Disk management.

Sd card is detected but cant open

I find that the easiest place to find files on a HDD or SD card that i connect but the drive comes up is by going right click on computer and going to the manage option.

I then go down to disk management and look for the storage that I have added.

Then right click on "change drive letter and path" and add give the storage a drive letter

For some reason the computer sometimes does not complete this part which leaves the drive unreadable

It is always a good thing to do to go to device drivers to check that you can see the drivers for the device being installed. This can be achieved by removing and replacing the storage device while device manager is open

Micro sd 2gb card, not read.

Sometimes when a flash memory stick fails because it was not removed from the USB port properly. If the device is removed by just pulling it out of the USB port, it can cause the flash device to fail, you must click on the Safely Remove Hardware icon on the Task Bar and select the device you wish to remove and only do so when instructed to do so.

When the flash memory device appears to malfunction it maybe possible to restore it by reformatting it. Insert the flash drive into the USB port then Click on Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Computer Management - Disk Management.
Then right click on Disk 1 removable drive and click Format. After the flash drive has been formatted it will indicate that it is Healthy.

You need to format the external drive. Format the drive as primary drive and in FAT32. (FAT32 will allow data to be exchanged between MACs and PCs).
Insert the external hard drive into the USB port then Click on Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Computer Management - Disk Management.
Then right click on Disk 1 removable drive and click Format. After the flash drive has been formatted it will indicate that it is Health.

Doesn't show mp3 files on micro sd card

You have to drag and drop only the MP3 files into the music folder. If you have them organized and in folder by artist, drag only the MP3s into the card's Music folder.

Micro sd memory card

Do you have a card reader on your pc? plug it in, open my computer, do you see the card there? if no.

Right click my computer icon on desktop or in start menu, select manage, on the left side select disk management, find the storage card from the drive list, right click create partition or Format, I would go with fat32 format to be sure. then you should see it on the computer asuming if you see the card in disk management but not in my computer. if you don't see the card in disk management and this is a new card. something is wrong, possibly the card reader is broken or there is another issue with your pc, or possibly your sansa has a faulty card slot which has caused the issue. It should work plug and play basicly.
