How to replace portable tire air pump hose


This can vary depending on the pump model and clamp that secures the hose to the pump. You have to check that the clamp is removable or the hose can come off for a replacement to attach. There are many replacement hoses for different models.

87 K5 was running yesterday this morning went to leave and dome light, headlights, check engine light and fuel pump arent working.


It has to do with the secondary air intake. first check for any cracks or leaks in the air intake system. most cars have a plastic routing tube that cracks or gets a hole in it from friction . could be even a bad clamp.check these places first. you might want to disassemble the whole air intake hose apparatus so you can really see whats going on on the bottom side.good luck ,and give me a rating if it helps,Gary

How do you install a thermostat on a 2001 suburban?


  1. Standing in front of the vehicle it's on the left front side of engine kind of low.
  2. Be sure to get a gasket as well.
  3. Drain the cooling system.
  4. Loosen the air cleaner outlet duct clamps at the following locations:
    • Throttle body
    • Mass airflow/intake air temperature (MAF/IAT) sensor
  5. Remove the radiator inlet hose clip from the outlet duct.
  6. Remove the air cleaner outlet duct.
  7. Reposition the outlet hose clamp at the water pump.
  8. Remove the outlet hose from the water pump.
  9. Remove the water pump inlet bolts.
  10. Remove the water pump inlet and thermostat from the water pump. Water pump inlet/thermostat assembly location
To install:

  1. Install the thermostat and water pump inlet to the water pump.
  2. Install the water pump inlet bolts.
  3. Tighten the water pump inlet bolts to 11 ft. lbs. (15 Nm).
  4. Install the outlet hose to the water pump.
  5. Position the outlet hose clamp at the water pump. NOTE
    Important: Align the arrow at the throttle body end of the duct with the throttle body attaching stud.
  6. Install the air cleaner outlet duct.
  7. Install the radiator inlet hose clip to the outlet duct.
  8. Tighten the air cleaner outlet duct clamps at the following locations:
    • Throttle body
    • Mass airflow/intake air temperature (MAF/IAT) sensor
  9. Tighten the air cleaner outlet duct clamp screws to 62 inch lbs. (7 Nm).
  10. Fill the cooling system and check for leaks.

Water not draining


There are several components to check when your dishwasher refuses to drain water. You need to check your drain hose, your pump assembly, timer, motor and drain valve and/or solenoid.
Most of the time it is the drain hose that is responsible for such problem. To check the drain hose, please follow the steps below:
  1. Disconnect the power source to your dishwasher before you conduct this or any other check. Either unplug the unit from the wall outlet, remove the appropriate fuse from the fuse box, or flip the appropriate breaker in the circuit breaker panel.
  2. Before you can check your dishwasher's drain hose for a blockage, you have to gain access to the hose. First remove the lower kickplate panel located below the door. This panel can be removed by removing a couple of screws that are located either above or below the panel. On some models, the dishwasher door has to be open to access and remove the screws, but then closed in order to remove the panel.
  3. With the panel removed, locate the drain hose. It is connected to the pump located below the lower spray arm. The drain hose runs from the pump to the sink drain, or to the air gap on top of the sink. There is a second hose leading from the pump that is a recirculation hose. When you are checking the drain hose for a blockage, you should check the recirculation hose as well.
  4. Place a shallow pan below the hose to catch any spills. Disconnect the drain hose form the pump by pinching the wire clamp with pliers and then sliding the clamp up the hose. Remove the hose from the pump assembly and wiggle the hose in various locations. This may help to loosen the blocked debris.
  5. Try running water through the hose to loosen and unblock the debris. A garden hose at full pressure is efficient to use for this task. Now disconnect the recirculation hose and check it for blockage in the same manner.
  6. Once you have successfully removed any and all blockages from either or both hoses, reconnect each hose to the dishwasher. Replace the clamps, and replace the lower panel. Reconnect the dishwasher's power supply and run the dishwasher to make sure it is running properly.

Code P0410- Secondary Air Injection Malfunction


The air injection reaction system (AIR) is on all 2004+ 4.2's. There is an electric blower under the truck, tucked inside the frame rail about under the drivers seat. The blower draws it's clean air from a hose tied into the air inlet tube between the airfilter box and Throttle body, pressurizes it slightly and blows this clean air into a port in the cylinder head directly above the exhaust manifold, dead center. There is a can shaped check valve bolted to this port with the air hose clamped to it and an electrical connection. The most common failure point of this system is this check valve. Remove the hose, the electrical connection and 2 bolts and it's off. Very easy. Problem is, it's about a $125 dealer only item.:banghead: The check valve gets corroded/cruded up and doesnt seat. Let it go long enough and moisture from the exhaust can back flow into the system and destroy the $$$ electric air blower. I'd start by removing and checking the valve and check the hoses for water.
Inspect the air pump and wire harness under the Trailblazer's frame rail, since you did mentioned that your had your transmission serviced and they would have had to work under there to remove the transmission pan to replace the transmission fluid and filter. There are 2 fuses you need to check also. AIR fuse 60amp....AIR solenoid fuse 15amp.

2007 S40 WONT START ''POWER STEERING FAILURE'' CAME ON


The power steering is actually ELECTRIC steering on this car Most common and basically only failure is 2 30 amp fuses in under hood fuse block Only other thing is mechanical and would set a trouble code and sat power steering on your dash. FYI. Jump Starting your car from the +- Terminals found near the FUSE box under the hood, will Blow the Fuses for the Power Steering. Always Jump start your car from the Battery Terminals in the Trunk

Locate the power steering pump and hoses on your vehicle. The power steering pump is located at the front of your engine, near the top of the motor. It will have a black fill cap on it that is labeled "power steering fluid."
1)Clean the outside of the pressurized power steering pump hoses and the power steering pump with clean shop rags to remove any oil deposits. Check the exterior of the lines to identify any signs of steering fluid leakage.
2)Start the motor and turn your steering wheel back and forth several times to cause the pressure in the steering pump to build up. Turn the engine off and recheck the hoses for fluid leaks. Examine the power steering pump for any signs of cracks or damage. If your power steering pump is damaged you need to replace it with a new pump by removing the bolts that hold the pump onto the bracket, taking the pump belt off the pulley and disconnecting the hoses. Replace the power steering pump by reattaching the hoses with a screw clamp and attaching the pump to the bracket. Place the belt around the pump pulley and apply pressure by pulling back on the pump and tightening the belt by using a socket wrench to tighten the bolt on the bracket. You can find a power steering pump for your vehicle at your local automotive.
3)Check the fittings and clamps for any signs of wear or leakage and tighten any loose clamps with a screwdriver. Inspect the hose leading from the power steering pump back into the firewall that leads to the steering wheel. If you find that a leak has developed in the power steering hose that leads to the steering column, consult a mechanic or take your vehicle to a local service center and have an inspection done.
4)Remove damaged power steering hoses by taking the cap off of the power steering pump and then unscrewing the clamp on the hose. Recover draining power steering fluid by placing a clean container below the hose or power steering pump when you loosen the hoses and allow the fluid to drain into the container.
5)Repair power steering hoses where the damaged area is close to the end of the hose by trimming off the affected area with a utility or sharp knife and reattaching the hose with a screw clamp by tightening the clamp with a screwdriver. For damage that is in the middle of the hose or near a section that can't be repaired, replace the hose with a power steering hose that can be purchased from any automotive supply store in your area or online at an automotive supply website, such as the ones listed below in the resources section, and connect the new hose to the power steering pump with a screw clamp.
6)Fill the power steering pump to the proper level with power steering fluid and replace the cap. Start the vehicle motor to test the system. Once you have verified that the power steering system is working properly, shut off the engine.

How to replace a water pump on a 2003 yukon


Water Pump Replacement (4.8L, 5.3L and 6.0L Engines)
Removal Procedure
1. Drain the cooling system.
2. Loosen the air cleaner outlet duct clamps at these locations:
 Throttle body
 Mass Airflow/Intake Air Temperature (MAF/IAT) sensor
3. Remove the radiator inlet hose clip from the outlet duct.
4. Remove the air cleaner outlet duct.
5. If necessary, remove the engine sight shield.
6. Remove the radiator vent inlet hose from the radiator hose clips.
7. Reposition the inlet hose clamp at the water pump.
8. Remove the inlet hose from the water pump.
9. Remove the fan blade.
11. Reposition the outlet hose clamp at the water pump.
12. Remove the outlet hose from the water pump.
13. Reposition the surge tank outlet hose clamp at the water pump.
14. Remove the surge tank outlet hose from the water pump.
15. Reposition the heater inlet hose clamp at the water pump.
16. Remove the heater inlet hose from the water pump.
17. Remove the water pump bolts.
18. Remove the water pump and gaskets.
19. Discard the water pump gaskets
Installation Procedure Important: All gaskets surfaces are to be free of oil or other foreign material
during assembly.
1. Install the water pump and NEW gaskets
2. Install the water pump bolts.
3. Install the heater inlet hose to the water pump.
Zoom Sized for Print
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service and Precautions.
2.1. Tighten the bolts a first pass to 15 Nm (11 ft. lbs.).
2.2. Tighten the bolts a final pass to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).
4. Position the heater inlet hose clamp at the water pump.
5. Install the surge tank outlet hose to the water pump.
6. Position the surge tank outlet hose clamp at the water pump.
7. Install the outlet hose to the water pump.
8. Position the outlet hose clamp at the water pump.
9. Install the accessory drive belt.
10. Install the fan blade.
11. Install the inlet hose to the water pump.
12. Position the inlet hose clamp at the water pump.
13. Install the engine vent inlet hose to the radiator hose clips.
14. If necessary, install the engine sight shield.
Important: Align the arrow at the throttle body end of the duct with the throttle
body attaching stud.
15. Install the air cleaner outlet duct
16. Install the radiator inlet hose clip to the outlet duct.
17. Tighten the air cleaner outlet duct clamps at these locations:
 Throttle body
 MAF/IAT sensor Tighten the clamps to 7 Nm (62 inch lbs.).
18. Fill the cooling system.

I hope this helps. The numbering is incorrect in the sequence but the instructions are correct.

DTC P0411/16795: SECONDARY AIR SYSTEM - INCORRECT FLOW DETECTED
Test Requirements
Ensure all fuses are okay, battery voltage is at least 11.5 volts, all electrical accessories are off, A/C is off.
Ensure engine is mechanically sound.
Test Procedure

NOTE
Secondary air system is activated by ECM and blows air into exhaust pipe
upstream of catalytic converter for 100 seconds during a cold start, 41-91°F (5-
33°C). Engine must be cold to perform following test procedure.

1. Ensure fuse and secondary fuse (secondary fuse is 40 amp and is located in fuse holder on top of battery)
are okay. Check hoses and components of Secondary Air Injection System, for damage, loose fit and
improper installation, check vacuum hoses for Secondary Air Injection System. Repair as necessary.
Erase DTC memory. Verify repair. If DTC does not reset, test is complete. Perform ECM relearn
procedure. See TEST DRIVE RELEARN PROCEDURE .
2. Remove engine cover. Disconnect pressure hose from Secondary Air Pump Motor (V101), by pressing
buttons on hose connector. See Fig. 33 . Using scan tool, check Secondary Air Pump Motor (V101) in
scan tool Output Diagnostic Test Mode (Secondary Air Pump Relay activation mode). See OUTPUT
DIAGNOSTIC TEST MODE .
3. Secondary Air Pump Motor (V101) should run in intervals and air should exit pump at hose connection.
If Secondary Air Pump Motor (V101) is okay, go to step 7 . If motor runs and no air exits secondary air
pump motor, replace faulty Secondary Air Pump Motor (V101). Erase DTC memory. Verify repair. Test
is complete. Perform ECM relearn procedure. See TEST DRIVE RELEARN PROCEDURE . If
secondary air pump motor does not run, go to next step.
4. Disconnect Secondary Air Pump Motor (V101) harness connector, install LED test light at secondary air
pump harness connector terminals. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, activate Secondary Air Pump Motor
(V101) in scan tool Output Diagnostic Test Mode (Secondary Air Pump Relay activation mode). See
OUTPUT DIAGNOSTIC TEST MODE . LED test light at Secondary Air Pump Motor (V101) harness
connector should flash. If LED test light at Secondary Air Pump Motor (V101) harness connector does
not flash, go to next step. If LED test light at Secondary Air Pump Motor (V101) harness connector
flashes, replace faulty Secondary Air Pump Motor (V101). Erase DTC memory. Verify repair. Test is
complete. Perform ECM relearn procedure. See TEST DRIVE RELEARN PROCEDURE .
5. Using DVOM check resistance of Secondary Air Pump Motor (V101) wiring. See appropriate WIRING
DIAGRAM under ENGINE PERFORMANCE in SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS. Resistance should
be a maximum of 1.5 ohms for each reading. Check wiring for short circuit to one another in Secondary
Air Pump Motor (N101) harness connector. Repair as necessary. Erase DTC memory. Verify repair. Test
is complete. Perform ECM relearn procedure.
Secondary Air Pump Motor (N101) wiring is okay, go to next step.
6. Check Secondary Air Pump Relay (J299) and Secondary Air Pump Relay (J299) wiring. See DTC
P0418/16802: SECONDARY AIR PUMP RELAY (J299), MALFUNCTION . Repair or replace as
necessary. Erase DTC memory. Verify repair. Test is complete. Perform ECM relearn procedure. See
TEST DRIVE RELEARN PROCEDURE .
7. Disconnect vacuum hose from Secondary Air Injection Valve (N112) and disconnect pressure hose from
secondary air pump motor, press buttons on pressure hose connector to disconnect pressure hose. See Fig.
34 . Blow lightly into disconnected pressure hose, Combi-Valve should be closed. Connect hand vacuum
pump to disconnected vacuum hose and apply vacuum to Combi-Valve, Combi-Valve should open. If
Combi-Valve opens when vacuum is applied, Combi-Valve is okay. Go to next step. If Combi-Valve
does not open when vacuum is applied, replace faulty Combi-Valve. Erase DTC memory. Verify repair.
Test is complete. Perform ECM relearn procedure. See TEST DRIVE RELEARN PROCEDURE .
8. Check Secondary Air Injection Valve (N112). See DTC P0412/16796: SECONDARY AIR
INJECTION VALVE (N112), ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT MALFUNCTION . Repair as necessary.
Erase DTC memory. Verify repair. Test is complete. Perform ECM relearn procedure.
NOTE: Do not use compressed air to check Combi-Valve.
