What kind of tires do I use for a 1999 Ford Escort ZX2 2.0 doc motor

Kathy

You can find a list of the recommended tires and pressures on a placard affixed to the driver door / jamb. This placard will also list the weight of the vehicle, and other information too. You should be able to look at the sidewall of the existing tires to determine the size. They will likely be either 185/65-14 or 185/60-15.

I looked at Tirerack.com and input your 1999 Ford Escort ZX2 and got these results. Apparently, two different sizes were standard for this car. They are: 185/65-14 and 185/60-15. The main difference is that one is mounted on a 14 inch rim and the other is mounted on a 15 inch rim (as indicated by the bold number in the size). Determine which size rim (by looking at the tire size you currently have) and replace with one of those listed above. This ONLY applies to factory rims. if they have been changed, all bets are off.

Any reputable tire shop or Automotive tire department (at Sears, etc.) should be able to get this info for you free of charge.

Good luck!

I have a 1979 fiat spider, I am putting 14" rims

Make sure the rims are the correct bot pattern (4 X 98) and hubcentric. As for tire size, goin from a 13 to 14 inch rim is called plus one. The key is tio maintian the same tire diameter so the gear ratio and speedometer arenlt affected.

A stock 13 take a 195SR- 13 tire, wirth the 'SR' being a 75 series tire with a diameter of 24.52 inches. The closest match in 14 inch tires is 215x60-14 with a diamter of 24.16. As close as possible match.

That would as much tire as youi wouls ever need.

Need tire tubes for back tires. Can't find anywhere. please help or Schwinn should take back faulty product.

Usually you can look on the tire sidewall and find the info you need. For a really good explanation of tubes and tire sizing try http://www.sheldonbrown.com/tire_sizing.html In general a 12" marked tube should fit a 12" tire. There are other factors to consider though and the mentioned site explains them all very well. When you replace the tube make sure you use plastic or synthetic tire tools to prevent a pinch flat. A pinch flat occurs when you accidently puncture the tube while mounting the bead of the tire back on the rim and the tube gets caught between the rim and the tire or the tool and the tube etc. Only put enough air in the tube to give it a little shape when inserting it in the tire. Hope this helps. Get back to me if you need any more advice and I can further direct you.

Im trying to replace rims for my 2002 hyundai accent...Ive seen 2 sizes on line, 13 x 4.5" and 13 x 5". If I change all 4 will there be an issue with my new 175/70r13 tires?

I work at a tire shop. The tires will fit fine on those sizes of rims. I would use the 13 x 5", because its the widest and that way the tires don't have that pizza cutter look.

13" tires on a 89 chevy sprint with 12" tires

you will need new rims but if they do it correctly (i.e. change the aspect ratio of the tire to counter act the rim size increase) this will not effect the speedometer.

Tire replacement

but whats the widest size tire I can safely mount on the stock rims. Have seen it posted somewhere that I could mount a 4.10/19 on these. That would probably smooth out the ride a little bit. But just wondering if it would start clearance issues. When you need a wider tire you really need a better tire. Try the Avon AM26. Rear 100/90-19. Front 90/90-19. These will transform your bike.,
