I forgot my username and password for my Westel 327W router. How do I reset to default settings?

Please reset your router and enter gain using the default username and password.
The default username and password for Netgear routers are admin and 1234 respectively.

1. Open your web browser and type in your router's IP address. The default IP address for Netgear routers is http://192.168.2.1.
2. Enter your username and password once prompted by your web browser. The default username and password for Netgear routers are admin and 1234 respectively.
3. Select "Set Password" from the left hand navigation menu on the router's manager menu.
4. Type in the old password, which should be 1234 if it is set to default and then type your new password twice.
5. Click "Apply" and the new password will take effect immediately.

Reset your router back to it's factory settings by holding the reset button for about 5 seconds. I have provided a list of the most popular router brands. If it does not work you may need to google what your specific model's default IP address/default username/default passwords are, for example search for "Encore ENHWI-2AN3 default IP address" The default login info can change, it can depend on where you obtained your router. If you purchased it yourself from a store then the standard defaults should work. If you obtained your router from your Internet Provider you may need to contact your service provider. It also may depend whether it's an old or new model router as well. And you may need to press and hold the reset button on your router several times before it actually clears. Make sure you have a wired connection then once you have accessed your
router simply run the Setup Wizard. Set your SSID as something you'll remember like "Mavericks Network" and your Password can be something like your phone number for example 3109876543

Buffalo - Username: root Password: Leave the field blank Default IP address is: 192.168.11.1

D-Link - Username: admin Password: Leave the field blank Default IP address is: 192.168.0.1

Encore - Username: admin Password: admin Default IP address 192.168.1.1

Linksys - Username: admin Password: admin Default IP address 192.168.1.1

NetGear - Username: admin Password: password Default IP address will be: 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1

TP-Link - Username: admin Password: admin Default IP address 192.168.1.1

TrendNet - Username: admin Password: admin Default IP address 192.168.10.1

Zhone - Username: admin Password: admin Default IP address 192.168.1.1

Zyxel - Username: admin Password: 1234 Default IP address 192.168.10.1

have you tried entering a blank username i.e. enter nothing? and use admin as the password
if that doesnt work look on the label on the bopttom of the router your isp might have configured it with there own username and password

• Note: Resetting your router to the factory defaults not only changes your gateway user name and password to the factory default values, but it also deletes all your home network settings. This includes the SSID and network encryption key. After you reset your gateway to the factory defaults, your home network won't be accessible until you reconfigure your router and all your network devices to use the same SSID and network encryption key.

To reset your VersaLink 327W gateway to the factory settings:
Hold the reset button on the back panel of the VersaLink gateway for 30 seconds.

• All your settings will be lost including network encryption information, MAC Address filtering information, and any SSID information you have entered.
• The gateway user name and password will revert to the default of Admin as the user name and Password as the password.
• You will need your user name or password to reconfigure the unit..

Your VersaLink 327W gateway is now using the default settings for the network configuration. This includes the default SSID and network encryption key. You must re-configure your VersaLink gateway to match your previous settings that were assigned to all other devices on your wireless network. Otherwise, no other network devices will be recognized.

The default IP is 192.168.1.1. If doesn't connect you will have to reset the router with the button on the back.

The default username/password is admin/password.

Access the setup page through a web browser on a wired computer. In the address bar, type 192.168.1.1.

Default Username: admin
Default Password: password

If this doesn't work, try admin for the username and password. If still doesn't work, then you will need to reset the gateway. Take note that before resetting the gateway, you need to know the internet connection settings. Resetting the gateway will restore the settings to default.

Once you are in the setup page of the gateway, go to Configuration> Wireless> then look for the wireless security. It should show you the WEP key.

Enter the wep key on your laptop.

Depending on which revision you have there are two possibilities

Default Username is: admin
Default Password is: password
or
Default Username is: admin
Default Password is: admin

If neither of these work - you may have setup a new username and password and forgot - on the router you will see a reset point - reset the router to factory defaults and the username and passwords above will now work.

The default user/password is "admin" & "password". If that doesnt work then you'll need to reset the router if you forgot the login password. The tiny reset button is on the back or underside.

if that didn't work the password was changed. the only way to get access to it again is by resetting it back to factory defaults.
