A flashing red light came on my acer projector pd120d but it did not stay on it displayed the power, temp and lamp

Projector bulbs generate alot of heat. Make sure the vents are not blocked or dirty. Check the fan to make sure it is operating properly. Hope this helps.

Won't power up at all

There is a chance that it is fuse protected inside.
When a filament-equipped lamp fails, it can create a momentary surge; you've probably seen this when a standard tungsten bulb flashes very bright in the process of dying completely.

If you no longer have the User Guide, you can download it here:

http://safemanuals.com/user-guide-instructions-owner-manual/ACER/PD120-_E

It may contain information about any fuse it uses.

The P300 has 3 kinds of reset mechanisms, 1. Soft Reset: you can keep all DRAM data. Procedure: Push the Reset button 2. Hard Reset/Save SDRAM -- Use hard reset/save SDRAM mode to reset the MobilePro P300 without losing the data in SDRAM. Use this mode if the safe software reset mode doesn't improve system operation. Procedure: Reset Button and Power Buttons at the same time. 3. Hard Reset/ Clear SDRAM: You will lose all data. Use to reset the MobilePro P300 and delete the contents of SDRAM.
