Question about Dell Latitude D600 Notebook
Also no sound control

I assume you refer to the loudspeaker icon on the taskbar. At least in winxp in a latitude 520, what works for me is
1. In Start'Settings'Control Panel, select Sounds and Audio Devices.
2. In the Volume tab, click the 'Place volume icon in the taskbar' check box.

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
