My brother had this similar problem last month. And he try to clean the Graphic card by using a fiber cloth and soft brush, and it worked. Try to clean it (the VGA), It might be a dust or something sticky.

Will not start up

One possible problem is that a memory card is not seeded properly. To check take all memory cards out and put back one at a time.

To do that touch the metal case of the PC to discharge the static electricity in your body before touching the memory card or mother board. I would do that each time you take out or put in a memory card.

You may get a screen saying your memory has been change. Just hit ok.

If you are not even getting a blinking cursor on your screen the power supply could be bad or some other part is pulling down the power. It that is the case try disconnecting the power jacks from the mother board and reconnecting. They may not be seeded properly.

Also try pulling one card at a time off the mother board and reseeding. You may have to unscrew a screw to pull a board.

Good Luck,

Pover up trouble

sounds like something is drawing down on your 12 volt supply drives or on board regulators. Try it without the drives connectged, and see if you can get the system to boot up(you'll just get a notice that your drives are unavailable, but you'll already know that, right?

got backup for your Dell?
