SOURCE: water leaking from freezer /

sounds like a drain clog in the freezer compartment above. remove the freezer rear panel and totally defrost the evaporator area, directly under the evap you see( under all taht ice) a small drain hole that has become frozen over, try defrosting with either a hair dryer( not a heat gun too much heat youl melt everything) or by pouring hot water donw the drain until you get a free flow of water down the tube. after its clear reassemble and you should be fine

SOURCE: ice buildup in freezer drip pan and water overflow

Your evaporator coils frost up in normal use and every eight hours or so the entire unit shuts down and the defrost heater comes on to melt the frost. This cycle last about 20 minutes. The melted frost drips into a drain pan and through a drain tube to the drain tray under the freezer/refrigerator where it's evaporated by the condenser fan.

Your drain tube may be stopped up with ice at the upper end because it drains too slow because it's stopped up at the lower end in the evaporator pan under the unit at the floor. It can get dust and mold in it. Once you get the ice out at the top a little pressure with a turkey baster will usually clear it out. Flushing it out with hot water and clorox may help.
Make sure it drains quick enough to prevent refreezing. . The drain should be located below the evaporator coils on the lower back of the freezer.

SOURCE: ice buildup in freezerator freezer section

If it is not a frost less freezer you'll have to remove perishables to another fridge/freezer; unplug and de-thaw the unit.

Yes it will cause the ice buildup on the rear nwall of the freezer along with the air duct restriction. You have a 61003601 Defrost Timer another source for the timer can be found HERE. I would like you turn manually slowly until the compressor and fans stop. Leave the refrigerator like this for up to 30 minutes and if the defrost timer does not turn the refrigerator compressor and fans on simply turn the timer again clockwise slowly until it restarts. The defost timer can be found inside the fresh food section and behind the control panel as seen in the item location 13 Photo Here. If you need to help the timer by turning the timer clockwise again to cause the compressor and fans run again you will need to replace the timer. Next we move on to the freezer and take out that panel that you see the ice building up on. Once the rear panel is off I need you to use a hair dryer to melt the ice buildup on the evaporator coils. When you do this you can see the defrost heater and the defrost thermostat easily. Can you see item location 12 in this photo HERE? That is the=> 61006079 Defrost Heater Assembly or can be found here=> 61006079 Defrost Heater Assembly I am here to answer questions if you would like my assistance, Thanks Sea Breeze

Model # MFF2557HES Top refrigator section stoped cooling freezer is working

You may have Ice buildup in the freezer. You freezer has a fan in the bak that sends the cool air to the fridge. Your fridge dial determines how muh cold air comes from the freezer. Try defrosting the freezer. You may have to pull the back panel off of the inside of the freezer to get the ice thawed. The ice build up is likely causing the air to not get to the fridge. Hope it works.

The fridge side is not cooling but the freezer is working

Hello

The cold air is not getting from the freezer to the fresh food section. At least three reasons for this.
First,if you see a frost/ice buildup on the back wall of the freezer, there is a defrost issue. The defrost circuit has at least three components: defrost timer, defrost thermostat, and a heating element. If any one of these fail ice will build up on the evaporator coil in the freezer and air will not flow through the coils to the fresh food section. The fan in the freezer moves the air, so if the compressor is running and you don't hear that fan working when you open the freezer door, that is probably the problem.(Fan problems are not rare with Amana/Maytag refrigerators). The ducts through which the air moves usually have a damper door that adjusts as needed. The damper will be in the fresh food section at the top rear. There is also a hole near the bottom in the divider wall that can ice up. If that is plugged that circle of air can't happen. That usually plugs up because of a defrost problem, however even a leaking door gasket can cause this.

Hopefully with these starting points you can zero in on it.

Refrigerator side doesn't keep things cold, just cool, despite having it on the coldest setting and the cold vent open between the freezer. The freezer is working fine.

Look on the back wall of the freezer for a ice buildup. If there is ice you have a defrost problem. The defrost timer is in the fresh food section inside the control panel. The defrost heater and defrost thermostat are behind the freezer back panel inside the freezer.
Also check the freezer fan. If there is no ice buildup in the freezer the freezer fan motor could be bad.

Food is freezing on left side of refrig and not so cold on right

Check the back wall of the freezer section for any ice buildup. This would be from a failure to defrost and requires parts.
Check the freezer side for the evaporator fan motor. Is the fan motor running?
If not a fan motor is needed.
If there is ice on the back wall of the freezer you can activate the defrost control by turning the cold control thermostat OFF then back ON "3" times.
Once you activate the control listen closely in the freezer side for a sizzling sound. This would indicate the defrost thermostat and defrost heater are good and the defrost timer needs replacing. If there is no sizzling sound after 20 minutes, the defrost thermostat and possibly the defrost heater need replacing.

Freezer section not freezing

If you only had ice buildup in one section of the evaporator you have a weak/inefficient compressor.
You need a new compressor or a new refrigerator.
