Question about Weber Performer Grill

Igniter Stopped working

The igniter on my Weber performer grill stopped working, I've checked all of the connections and everything seems good. I even cleaned the burner tube, it lights manually so I'm sure it has to be something with the igniter. Is there anything else I should look at or is it possible the igniter is shot? For what it's worth we have had a lot of rain here the last couple of weeks, even though the grill is covered, I'm sure some moisture has gotten in there. Thanks.

Igniter could be shot. Take out igniter and put near something metal. Push button to see if sparks occur. If not igniter is no good. If this works, the end of wire that is near wear the igniter sparks to light grill could be to far away from metal, bend to get closer to metal, so it will spark, or end could be covered with grease, clean end and try for spark again.

Why won't my weber q grill light

Check to see that wire from igniter switch is connected to the igniter itself. If it is check to see that there's a spark from the night. If there is a spark but still low flame ignition try adjusting the igniter so the spark is closer to the burner. Most likely, the igniter is no longer any good.

How to clean weber performer ignitor or gas nozzel

If you can light it with a match or lighter, the gas nozzle is working fine. You may have to replace your igniter. My Performer has the same problem, so I suspect the original igniter is a piece of cr*p. You may want to look into an aftermarket replacement. Of just use a fireplace lighter like I do.

Weber performer igniter not working

Replace it or use a fireplace lighter. Mine stopped working, too. I think the original igniters are cra**y. You may want to shop around for an after market replacement.

My igniter doesn't work becasue the wires are not attached - is there a diagram?

if you have more than one wire you probably have more than one igniter. Usually the igniter is attached to the frame (so it's grounded like a spark plug on a car). the other end of the wire attaches to the sparking fixture, which is located alongside one of the jets of the burner, There should be a connecter on the end of the wire. This slips onto the unit that sparks, usually on the bottom. They don't give you much extra wire, so stretch it out under the grill and the "sparker" will be within reach of the end of the wire.

I have a circa 2003 Weber Q and need to replace the ignitor pushbotton. It is housed in a circular tube on the left side of the grill. How do I remove the old one so a new one can be installed? It seems...

The igniter simply unscrews from front to back and then slides out. There is a lock screw off lock washer behind the head of the igniter.

Weber no longer stock the part, but you can find it at the following link.

In addition, I am including a link to your Owner's Manual which should help you on removing the igniter and installing the new one.

Hope this helps you and Happy Grilling.

I purchased a Weber Performer grill about 4 weeks ago. I have used it about 10 times without issue. The igniter sytem has stopped working. The grill is attached to a 20# cylinder and it is fill. I can feel...

You have done everything there is to be done. Both in troubleshooting and trying to solve it, without success. Your next step is to replace the grill's hose/regulator assembly, as the regulator is permanently locked up. It's still under warranty, so you can either get one from Weber (with your Proof of Purchase) or buy one (about $30.00) at any home center or hardware store that sells gas grills and accessories. If you go the latter route, take your old one with you for comparison purposes.

Hope this helped you.

The igniter does not work. i changed the battery. it used to click when pressed down and pop up. now it does not. i do see that the spring is still in the unit.

I had horrible luck with my Weber igniter. They just don't seem to last. I replaced mine two or three times in the 10 years I had my grill, then finally gave up and started using a lighter. So, try replacing it with a Weber part, or one of the universal igniters at your favorite home improvement store.
