I have changed the o ring three time and I cant get it to stop leaking. Two new o rings installed....still leaks. large o ring sx200z7

Had problems with these types before also. As the filter ages it warps and thats a problem lol.
You said you cleaned the recesses Im hoping top and bottom and lubricated the recesses IN addition to the o-ring, don't hold back on that lube either. And lastly although it sounds odd, dont over-tighten the nuts, tighten them slightly over hand tight turn the pump on for a bit leaking everywher tighten everywhere, leaking in one spot, tighten only that one spot a little.
Putting on all that lube doesnt do too good when it spits it out from pressure.
Also pics next time, and good luck!

Goes it hurt to drive a car with a rear seal leak

Hi there, I'm Al the owner of Big As Auto Repair

If you must drive the vehicle with any kind of leak maybe because you can't afford to repair it for awhile then / VERY IMPORTANT, you must keep it checked and filled to the proper level. HERE's WHY! The leak that you have is losing oil, grease, coolant or what every the leak is. This is lubrication for bearings and components that must have it to keep from damaging the component and in most cases locking up. SO, its OK to drive it that way just as long as you keep it full of lubricant. If you need further assistance go to my website below. Have an awesome day! Auto Repair

The "O" ring seems to be leaking

Most softener heads are tightened to a minimum of 20 ft. lbs. to seal and not leak. If yours leaks after you tighten it (a quick sharp clock-wise twist will do fine) you should see your brand's local dealer and buy a new tank O ring. This must be lubricated with silicone grease. Petroleum based lubricants will degrade rubber. If you are looking for a new dealer or a more knowledgeable dealer visit wqa.org and find your local Certified Water Specialist.

2008 oil leak and engine ticking

An engine used oil for lubrication and colling. If there is no oil then there is no lubrication. No lubrication means lots of heat and friction. Is it a ticking or banging noise? I do believe it is an ohc engine so it couldnt be a lifter ticking. It is probably a rod knocking. It so then it will more than likely need an engine

Oil leak -between inner primary and transmission . Changed broken belt and now I have this leak. I put new mainshaft seal and jackshaft seal. Help!!!

There are several seals that can leak in this area. You say you replaced the mainshaft seal in the back of the primary. I've seen a lot of people replace this seal only to have it start leaking immediately. The reason was that they didn't know you must lubricate the seal before you reinstall the primary cover. When you put the primary cover on with the seal dry, when the engine starts up, the mainshaft immediately goes to 1000 RPM or higher with no lubrication on the seal. The friction burns the lip of the seal up before the lubrication in the primary can get there. It only take a second, literally.

Other seals that can cause leaks in this area are the large final drive gear seal in the face of the transmission behind the front belt pulley and the "Quad" seal that is inside the transmission. The Quad seal is almost like an O-ring. It's purpose is to prevent transmission lubricant from seeping out through the splines of the final drive gear. If the front sprocket splines wear and the sprocket gets the slightest bit loose, the compression on the Quad seal will be lost and the tranny will leak. The tale tell sign on this leak is that the transmission will leak a spot of oil about the size of a quarter or a bit bigger when you park the bike. If you wipe up the spot, it won't leak anymore until you either ride the bike or simply start the engine. Then it'll leak that quarter sized spot and stop. Check your lube level in your transmission.

Whenever I pull the inner primary and the belt on a Big Twin, I replace ALL the seals. Make sure you lubricate the lips on the seals so they don't cook before lubrication can get to the seal.

Good Luck
Steve

Will a oil seal leak cause transmission to slip

If you are referring to a leaking transmission seal, your answer is yes...,Transmission fluid not only keeps the parts inside lubricated, but actually is a working component of the transmission. If it's leaking, keep it full and have the leak fixed asap or you will burn out the unit.

300zx leaking fuel injector

You need to lubricate the o ring prior to fitting the injector. Without the lubrication the injector does not slide into the fitting and can roll in the groove and get snagged and damaged. A thin film of engine oil will fix it but also check the sleeve where the injector sits in case it has a burr or was nicked during the removal process first time.
