SOURCE: My TV can no longer connect to the internet. It

Hi

You have to fix this by upgrading to the latest Firmware. Also take the plug out of the socket to get a hard reset of the TV. It will take you to the Sony logo and will take a while to start up.Eventually you can now connect to internet. If still it fails it might be a problem with the sony server and you need to contact them.

Please get back to us if you have further query or else please accept this "particular" solution.

Thanks for contacting fixya.com

I have slingbox in my home, I want to watch it in my vacation home TV not on my iPad. I purchased Roku, but cannot figure out how to setup. Do I need a Roku at each home

You only need a ROKU at your vacation home and the Slingbox app selected from your ROKU and showing on your TV. Use your Ipad and select the Singbox app and get the programming from your home TV. There is a little box that allows you to choose between the Ipad or the TV while it is playing on the IPad, select the ROKU and the TV screen will show connecting and the program will transfer to the TV and you will use your Ipad as a remote control.

PROGRAMS PLAYS FOR SHORT WHILE, STOPS AND BUFFERS TO 25, AND THEN WON'T PLAY REST OF PROGRAM.

You have a slow Internet connection. This may be caused be the Streaming Stick being far from the wireless router. The best way to watch Netflix is to have an internet connection of 25/25 Mbps and use a wired (ethernet ) connection to a Roku 3 for example. If you are using DSL that would be a problem because of slow internet speed. Try to imorove the position of the router closer to the Streming Stick if possible. I stream at a distance of 30 ft and it never buffers with a wireless connection to a 720p TV and have a wired connection to a Roku 3 10 a 1080p TV and it works beautifully. Good Luck!

Cant connect to the wireless net work

You probably have a slow internet connection. It is recommended that you have a minimum 25/25 Mbps connection from your provider. If you do then the Roku might be too far from your wireless router. Try to move the router closer to the Roku if possible. The best way to watch streaming video is with a wired Ethernet connection with a Roku 2 or other wired device.

How do I set up Wi-Fi?

First, you will need you network password, if password protected. Next, connect your Roku device to the television nearest your router.
Start your Roku device, and wait for the Roku main-screen to appear. Then scroll down to "Settings" and hit "OK" on your Roku remote. Next scroll to "Network" and hit "OK' on your remote, then choose wireless, or wired. If you using an Ethernet cable to connect your Roku, you won't need a network password. If your trying to make a wireless connection, this wireless choice is where you'll need your network password.

How to hook up

You do not need a smart tv in order to use the roku. Basically the roku device makes your TV Smart. The basic connection is just an hdmi cable, and some type of internet connection. Depending on the Roku you have, you can either go with the built in wireless, or you can hard wire the internet. The same type of cable that you would use to hook up a computer to your router.

You have to go to www.roku.com and sign up for an account. Once you have signed up for an account (yes you have to give them your bank stuff in case you use a pay channel) on your account page there at the bottom right of the page is a link to "Link A Player". This is how you get your code.

I have a Roku, which allows me to transfer Netflix films to my TV. Since we no longer have a WiFi it must be attached by wire. I have a Linksys Cisco router. Can yo give me directions on installing both...

Okay, the router "if needed" first. Do you need a router? A router is used mainly to connect multiple devices to one internet connection. The Roku is one, if you have computer(s) also, then yes you need a router. Is the Linksys router wireless?
From the wall the coaxial cable TV/internet cable goes into the cable modem and another coaxial to the Cable box. Wire to the TV as desired. From the cable modem to the router use a RJ 45 cable into the WAN/Internet port. Now use another RJ 45 cable to the Roku and RJ 45's to the other ports marked 1 to 4 as needed for computers. If the Linksys router is wireless you can set up everything wirelessly.
Instructions for setting up the Roku is at the link below.
