What could be wrong?

I loaned a neighbor my speakers and he says that when they were changing a song it just stopped working, I've tried the speakers with two different receivers and nothing, no sound. The fuses look fine. One of the receivers also flashed PROTECT when I was trying to get sound. what could be the problem

Cervin Vega has allways been cheap on the cross over networks. Too small components, resistors and coils that burns out due to cost savings during manufacturing.
I guess that while playing, the temperature on the componets were so high, that the expansion of metals made electric contact untill the small pause between the songs cooled down connections, and then lost contact completely. The solderings has dried and shrinked. Much may have happen.

Also, sudden break in the music (Changing song with cheap players) will damage the speaker drivers. Imagine interrupting a bass signal that has an electric potential of 70 - 100 Volt. A spike of very high energy will pass through the high pass filters and damage midrange and tweeter. Bass drivers usually survive these spikes, but not allways.

Remove the crossower network and take a look at it. You do not need to be an engineer to see if that is "abused" or not.

No matter what, your neighbour is responsible for damaging your speakers, and will hopefully make it up with you.

The problem could be that the speakers were driven too hard and burned out. The fuses that "look fine" could have been replaced after the fact.

It could be an internal short circuit. open and check all wires and solderings, plus the state of the crossover filter.

Well do not loan tools like that out, but the first thing that comes to mind is the blades are dull an may need sharpening. Probably forced it to hard an dulled them. They are easy to do that to. Blades can be expensive but try sharpening them. Mine acts up with worn blades.

Humming sound cumin from my creative inspire 4.1 woofer

Make sure that you've fully pushed in the jack to the sound card.....maybe you've not connected the jack into the correct socket on your soundcard as there are usually 3 identical sockets...but only 1 is the correct one. Sometimes colour-coded green. Try it in each one in turn. If you have headphones, try plugging them in as you will hear sound in them when you've got the correct socket!

No sound from logitech speakers, they worked 2 songs and then stop working i ve got control whit buttons on top of speaker but no sound please help

FOR MACS... Last February(08) I bought the V20 Logitech speakers for my Apple iBook laptop. I got them to work. Hadn't used them for about a year and had forgotten how to get the sound to emerge. I went to System Preferences. Clicked on Sound. I had plugged in the USB. Didn't show up. Unplugged it and plugged in again and there it was! I clicked on it and the sound came through immediately. So wait to plug in the speakers until you have opened Sound. (And Pandora (superb Internet radio station) is playing flawlessly.) I am not familiar with PCs. Sorry.

Sharp sd nx10_out signal trouble

Try all of the spaekers on the channel you know works. If all are fine, swap the speaker lines to test them. Is the input a DVD player on RCA cables? A bad signal cable from a component can be a source for problem. Connect the speakers directly to the amp(if possible) bypassing the sub box. If all works without the box, suspect bad crossover or in the self-powered boxes a bad amp.
