SOURCE: Vacume Overheating

There will be a filter between the cylinder/bag and the engine. If your vacuum has a HEPA filter there will be one on the other side of the engine. Remove both of these and clean them out with water, allow to dry and replace.

My lift off revolution vacume shuts off

Hi Kathryn! Your Lift-Off vacuum is equipped with a Thermal Protector that will turn your vacuum off if the motor starts to overheat. This can be caused by dirty filter or reduced air flow.

Here's a quick link to troubleshooting steps to assist you:

I've got the Hoover #uh70035b, it worked great for a long time, but now after about 5-10 mins it then shuts down and after a "long" while it will work again. It's like it's over...

go to hover for the owners manual sounds like it might be a clogged internal filter stifling the normal flow of cooling air around the motor

Was vacuming floors and it just q2uit no power

The most common thing would be a bad cord. It could also be a switch, the heat sensor or fuse(depending if you have one on that particular model). All of these can be tested with a continuity tester.

It could also be the motor, but usually the motor tends to smoke, stink, and spark before it shuts off completely. Do do a quick check to see if it is the motor you can manually turn the brushroller(if the belt is still good) and that will rotate the motor a around and sometimes that will make it kick back on if it is the motor. Now that probably won't fix it. It might sound terrible, but you'll know what the problem was.

Some vacuums have a reset switch on the machine that could have been tripped. They are usually on the back of the machine towards the bottom. Not all vacuums have these, but it's something to look for.

If it overheated, you just need to let it cool off and try it again.

I hope one of these suggestions helps. Good Luck

Loss of suction bissell vacume

that is normal for the vacume to shut off if the motor overheats you must keep teh dirt cup clean and empty and all the filters clean, when you empty the dirt cup if you have a lot of pet hair take the hose off and make sure that it is clean as well, and do not try to pick up any of those cleaning wipes that will stop it up real quick

Vacum keeps turning off with warning lights

Actually the problem is that you need to change your control valve. The motor has an internal thermostat on it already so the chances of you burning the motor out are very slim. By changing the control valve, you will solve your problem. Very simple and quick fix.
