I purchased an extended warrenty for my 50 inch plasma tv that cost me over 350.00. When I called Magnavox (which I might add they are extremely rude) they are telling me they have no record of the extended warrenty. Where is it? They said tuff, your out of luck. I am sick and tired of this and am going to the Attorney General with this. I paid for a 4 year extended warrenty and they cannot find it.
Look over your policy carefully. Magnavox does not hold there own paper for extended warranties. I would start with where did you purchase it, and who sold you the warranty. Magnavox did use a company called N.E.W. I think you have a third party involved.
Philips, which owned the rights to Magnavox recently as a few months ago sold all rights to the Philips, Magnavox Television and it's parts division to Funai. I don't know when you bought the contract but tell Home Depot you want to cancel the extended warranty and get a refund. It might be pro-rated so you won't get it all back, if any, depending on how long you have to cancel it after you signed up. And by the way, I worked for Philips until they closed factory service operations in 2004 and I know for a fact Philips/Magnavox stopped issuing contracts from that division. Most all contracts at that time were sold to N.E.W. I'm not saying that's what you have because you would'nt be having this problem if you had their's.

Thank you for your help, I called Home Depot where I purchased the TV and they said Magnavox holds the warrenty, Magnavox said they have no record. Figures, I paid that much for an extended warrenty and no one knows where it is. I get a black screen and red flashing lights and have to unplug the main cord to tv, plug it back in and then get the picture..this is totally outrageous and Magnavox should recall ALL the plasma TV's they have sold..they are junk and the public should not have to put up with this..
