Question about Computers & Internet
I have a Singer 1408/1409. I have only used it 5-6 times. Last time I used it, the threads bunched up under the needle and I had to force the needle up to free it. I pulled out the bobbin and clipped the threads that had accumulated. Now, the needle will not catch the bobbin thread and will not sew at all. I was able to catch the bobbin thread once, but it still would not sew. Now I cannnot, It runs, but does not stitch. I took it back to Target, to get another machine, but without the receipt, they will not help.
Your needle may have a bur on it or it may have gotten bent hitting the bobbin case. Rewind the thread evenly on the bobbin. Remove and insert holding the tab out on the bobbin case. Push in. You will hear an audible click when it is in placed properly.
