Some of your car manufacturers say as long as 100,000 miles,I would recommend about half that time, but that will differ from about anyone else you ask,so use best judgement on the the way it is running and noticeable increase of fuel consumption.

Fuel injectors should be next on your list of things to check and replace. You might also check your oil to see if it has turned any abnormal color. This will let you know if you have a liquid leak in the engine. When you removed the old spark plugs were any of them wet?

Need the gap setting for a 25 mower lawn tractor

No one gaps spark plugs anymore. They all come pre-gapped, are really cheap to replace, need to be replace every year at a minimum as per all manufacturers recommendations, and as long as you don't bang it after buying it you'll be fine doing the maintenance yourself. Also, unless you know the engine make & horse power you can't look up the related plug & corresponding gap.

Truck was running and just died. eletric system ok. fuel pump ok. and fuel level sensor is fine . can't figure out why it wont run . help please

Have you pulled and checked the spark plugs to see if its getting fire to the engine? If notI recommend trying this first. Just remove the easiest spark plug to get to reattach the plug wire and ground it to the engine and see if its getting a spark...let me know how this turns out and we can work from there.

I have a 1982 F150(302)that starts & cruises fine but wants to fall flat on acceleration. Any ideas?

If when you try to accelerate, it seems to run more rough, it could be the spark plug wires.
After time, these break down and allow spark to jump to nearby metal instead of delivering the spark to the plug.

I would recommend a complete tune-up with spark plugs, spark plug cables (including the coil lead).
Let me know how it goes!

Do I need special tools to replace spake plugs on

Super easy to do but I wouldn't replace the wires unless you know one is malfunctioning (very rare and the stock wires are fine 100k+). For the plugs I'd recommend not going with the bosch plugs, if you really want platinum pick up a set of the ngk or the factory delcos (ngk makes the oem plugs). Here are some part #'s, you can just call a napa with the stock # and they should have them, I'm guessing you have a 00+ tahoe with a 4.8/5.3? They all work the same for any of the lsx truck motors.
2003 CHEVROLET TAHOE 5.3 V8 T FI
Spark Plug_________Part No.____Stock No.___Plug Gap
V-Power___________TR5_______2283______.040
G-Power___________TR5GP_____3186______.040
Laser Platinum______PTR5D-10___3784______.040
OE Laser Iridium_____ITR5F13____6044______.040
Iridium IX __________TR5IX______7397______.040

Plugs are really easy to do, just get a few angles and a few length extensions for a 3/8" ratchet and it will be done in no time. Take your time and be careful not to drop the plugs make sure you screw the plugs in by hand first, and after a couple of turns you can put the socket/wrench on there.

Good luck and hope this helps.
