It's easiest to take the car to an automotive specialist. They have the tools to diagnose the issue in seconds as compared to tearing your car apart. Alternatively, you can get an ohm-meter and the manual for your specified model and do the work yourself, but it's a long...tedious... process that really isn't worth it. If you spent the same time making money as compared to working on your car, the cost would be cheaper to have a pro do the work.

Brake light switch can be checked with a test light. Since the 3rd brake light is not working That's probably the problem.

How do you change the brake lights?

you need to remove the case from the van. Pop the hatch and remove the screws on the inside of the light and the case will come out with a little wiggling. The bulbs will have a clip which you will need to remove. Then the light will also have a tab you need to push in and the bulb will turn out counterclockwise. install is the reverse of removal.

How do I change the brake light and signal in 2005 town country

Open the tailgate and on either side you'll see 2 screws holding the tail light assembly. Unscrew these and the assembly will come off. It might take a little prying if it has never been removed before. Each bulb is in a base attached to the assembly from the back. Turn the base 1/4 turn and pull out to get access to the bulb itself.
