Question about Computers & Internet

Enlarging the screeen?

I bought a touch screen acer aspire that allows you to enlarge or shrink on the screen. you can also perform the same task usingthe ctrl - or ctrl+. sometimes this enlarging seems to do this enlarging by itself. acer kind of caddy cornered the little pad that acts like the mouse. I cant think of the professional name. I think this area has more dutys than to just move the cursor around and has something to do with this enlargement of the text and screen. I looked on line with acer and cannot find a solution for it. I have to close application to resolve it.

Make sure your screen is EXTREMELY clean especially around the edges. Use a q-tip if you have to.

SOURCE: Enlarged icons and text

The following should get you back to normal:

  1. Click the "Start" button
  2. Click "Control Panel"
  3. Click "Display"
  4. Click the "Settings" tab on the top
  5. Near the bottom is a box that says "Screen Resolution" , to make the stuff on the screen smaller , slide the bar toward the right and hit apply. You may need to slide it over a couple of times to make the display look correct on your screen.

That should fix you right up!

Sounds like the display resolution has been lowered, just go in your control panel > Display > Settings, and set it at a higher setting.

How to enlarge the words sizes when i open the internet

In Internet Explorer you can go to View -> Text Size and enlarge the font from there. In Google Chrome you can go to Options -> Under the Hood and either enlarge the font or zoom on the page. In Mozilla, I would look for a similar option in the Options or Settings menus.

Enlarging font size on a web page - how do I get this done on Acer Aspire 4741G?

Like in every other pc with Windows: press the ctrl key and turn the wheel of the mouse. If you want to enlarge just the fonts then you must go in the browsers properties and change them from there: in Opera it's in Tools > Preferences > Advanced > Fonts.

The images on the screen are giant and I can't shrink them to use my phone

This is what you should do to shrink them: double-tap anywhere on the screen using 3 of your fingers (simultaneously).

And in case you want to enlarge them again, just do the same thing.

F11 key won't enlarge to a full screen

Can you place your mouse on an open area of the screen you would like to enlarge, right click the mouse and see if Lock toolbars has a check mark next to it...If it does, remove the check mark. Then go to View and click on Full Screen...Hopefully that will enlarge the screen.

If it does, click on the F11 button and see if it then shrinks the screen and click on F11 again to see if it enlarges it...Providing it does both, your problem could now be resolved...Either way, post back here and let us know.
