Why can I only get my one local am station when the fm works alright

AM and FM transmit differently, so \it's not surprising that there's a difference in the number of stations you pick up. Also, AM radio is a dying medium, so there may not be as many staions in your area as there are FM.

No Sound on AM or SW

Hello
If the set receives FM signals without any problem, and only fails to receive AM signals, the IC [integrated circuit] used in it is faulty. The number of the IC used with your radio is CXA 1376AS. It is a replacable type IC, and can be bought from most of the electronic spare part shops at your town. If you want further details about its service manual, get me by Fixya. OK.

Sounds like you blew the finals. When you "RUN POWER", you increase chances of something going wrong and it is mainly caused by a high SWR reading. You fried something for sure. Better get those SWR's checked while you are there.

My radio won't play tv channel 4 sound or any other! please tell me if im doing something wrong!

Since June of last year all television broadcasting switched over to digital signals. Without a converter your radio will not receive any of the stations sound channels. Impossible to modify, only a converter will bring the stations in.

New Radio too powerful for 15 Watt speakers?

Hello mike_mccuske,

The OEM speakers will still work OK with your new Pioneer. Just don't turn it up too loud. Of course you'll get improved sound if you replace the speakers. Your Pioneer's RMS power is 14 watts, and the peak (maximum) power is 50 watts. The door speakers in a 2000 Honda Civic are 6.5" and you can get a set of Pioneer speakers, the TS-G1642R's, from Crutchfield for less than $50. Their RMS power range is 2-30 watts and they can handle a peak power of up to 180 watts.

Hope this helps.
