How to change the screen size on a Westington TV

Hey,
In order for you to change the screen size on your Westington TV you have to press on Format on your remote (it is the button between the volume and the channel, right under the input button). As you press on it, it will change the display. From
  • Standard: Picture is displayed in its original size.
  • Fill: Picture is displayed to cover the entire screen.
  • Overscan: Picture is scaled down to fit the display area.
  • 1:1 Mode: Matches the incoming resolution exactly to the pixels without any scaling.

And now everything should be good!
Enjoy!

Pc resolution doesnt fit on screen

There is probably an overscan option in the TV menu. Make sure that is off. Otherwise, adjust the resolution on the computer to fit correctly.

White stripe on screen

Unfortunately it seems that each time I turn the tv on and off it resets the screen position and I have to adjust it each time.

I would assume that my set would remember the settings.
Use Picture Size, not Picture fit. Set it to 16:9, instead of Fit To Screen. There's a handy button the the remote for this: P-Size. And the setting sticks between shut-offs.

What you are seeing is called "overscan", extra information that most broadcast stations send, because most old TV's were set to zoom-in/crop the signal they received. So.. with new TVs, like your Samsung, you get the choice between size "Fit to Screen" which is 1-to-1, for pixel-accurate inputs like Blu-Ray and DVD, and size "16:9" which is really "support for overscan", for old, less precise signals like broadcast.

Xfx disc wont load and i cant register my new card .i need to do this as ihave no catalyst control so i cant overscan the picture size to fit screen.i also need to know my cards status.

You don't need to install the drivers from the CD. Go online
and use your Personal Activation Code to create an account
and register your new card. You are then allowed to download
the drivers and Catalyst softwares.

Panasonic viera doesn't display computer correctly

I have had what is fundamentally the same problem. I have a desktop PC that I am plugging in to my Panasonic Viera TX-32LZD80. I am using DVI connection plugged in to HDMI port.

The solution is fairly simple; use the Menu button on the TV remote to get to the Main Menu for the TV and then select Setup which should be the fourth of four options. This will get you to the Setup Menu for the TV for the current channel. Look for the Picture Overscan option, it will very probably be set to On if you have the problem of %5 or so of display being missing on all sides.

Switch Picture Overscan to Off.

This immediately should solve your problem. A note of warning on this is that I suspected this was the problem but when I first looked at the Setup Menu I could not find the Picture Overscan option.

If you are unable to find the Picture Overscan option then trying fiddling with the Aspect settings. You will probably find it set to Auto. Switch it to 16:9 and you should find the Picture Overscan option will be available from the Setup Menu.

Hope it works for you.

Connection to MAC Mini

No changes can be made to the picture size on the panel. Most PCs have a facility to reduce the size by software means to correct this sort of problem (for example in 'Display properties'). As for the Mac; since it's not my area of expertise I can't say for sure but I'd be suprised if it didn't have this feature.

My Picture is wider than the screen

How much wider are we talking about? It is normal for all TV's to be a bit overscanned anyway.
