You might want to clean the nozzles and if it doesnt solve the problem, replace them with original ones. Are you current cartridges refills or what?

Can i still print in only black ink when my color ink cartridges are expired with a c8180

Yes, right click the printer and in the properties look for "use grayscale" or similar option - this will force the printer to only use black ink.

Good luck! Please don't forget to rate :)

Compatible inks v genuine HP inks?

Generally speaking the remanufactured carts have a lower capacity than the hp counter part. Otherwise they usually don't leak unless you go really, really cheap on it.

Display shows there is no ink yet each cartridge has ink in it. And the printer will not print

Some printers are very particular about ink cartridges. Yours may be one. Even if YOU think there is ink in the cartridge, it may not be useable. The printer is not printing because, to protect itself from damage, it requires a certain level of ink to be present.

In my experience, for best results, use only genuine HP cartridges in your printer. Do not use 3rd party cartridges and please don't try to save a couple bucks by refilling your present cartridges.

HPC8180 Did not follow intitial instructions and now have ink system failure. Hp unable to help sent me brand new ink cartridges, I tried to reset with no success. Any help?

Follow the instructions on this web page to prime ink through the lines and hopefully clear the error. I don't know why HP sent you new ink cartridges when it should be obvious to them that the cartridges are not the problem.

HP Phototsmart C8180 Ink system failure

The printer should have its own ON/OFF switch (or button).
Always use that control to turn-off the printer.
The printer reacts to the 'OFF' signal by properly shutting itself down, and then cutting the power to itself.

Incorrect estimated ink level.........won't print.

My HP C8180 inkjet printer had an identical problem. The only solution I found that worked was to re-install the drivers and software again. Just download the software and driver package from the HP website and follow the instllation instructions.
