Contact the company where you purchased the parts from originally and ask for new instructions. Guessing where to place the wires could lead to physical damage to you or the equipment.

I am trying to determine which wires correspond to the correct plugs as they are numbered slightly different. Is their a diagrsm i can follow for this specific switch model # 318369616?

The important thing here is to make SURE the wires from one switch are connected to the same terminals on the new switch...the physical locations might be different but as long as the wires that are at L1, L2, H1, H2, 2p are connected to the SAME terminals on the new switch, you should be good.(use this as JUST AN EXAMPLE BECAUSE I DON'T KNOW THE MODEL RANGE YOU HAVE!)
  • l1 connects to 3-l1
  • l2 connects to 5-l2
  • h1 connects to 1-h1
  • h2 connects to 4-h2
  • p connects to 2-p
  • I need the part number of the old switch *and* the new one to be able to better visualize the connections. Thanks.

New problem or old problem? Has it ever worked? First check the main control component and make sure all wires are plugged in.

I have a model 113.29991 old table saw... need new miter gauge... new ones do not fit the width of the slot on the steel table top. where can I find a new gauge???

Craftsman is a Sears brand. Do you have a local Sears store?? They should be able to help you.. If you don't have a Sears or a K-Mart, you can get on the internet and find an outlet for tool repair parts. That's how I find my lawn mower parts...

I'm trying to replace part 316436001. The new switch looks different on the connections. It still has 5 connections but I don't know which connections go where. Can you help?

If you look closey at the terminal where the wires go they will be marked on the body of the switch
PL or just P

the new and old switch should both have the same markings and

P wires goes to p regarless of where it may be now
L1 to L1 and so on and so on

If you still need help replay and i'll assist you further

New GE Profile dryer DPSE810EG7WT does not work. I wired exactly as old dryer. L1 L2 and neutral. The timer comes on but the machine does nothing! Thanks, Roger

if this is a gas dryer you would only need L1 OR L2.... NOT BOTH PHASES, this unit only needs the one leg of either A 120Volts or B 120Volts phase NOT BOTH PHASES 240 volts A.C. not 240 V.A.C. as in an electrically heated element will require to heat the system, NOW careful now because one hot phase is connected where it shouldn't be!!!!

I have an old godman furnace GPM050-3 nedd to replace the circuit board, I allready got a new janitrol circuit board, but looks different, I need instructions on how to replace that

Look on the new board and the old boards to compare the markings where the wires a hooked at. For example "L1" on the old board would go to "L1" on the new board. All the wires on the old board sould have a counterpart on the new baord. Just switch them one by one so you don't get confused.

Wiring hookup for a replacement part

hopefull yyou havent disconnect old switch yet. whirpool and kit aid are same Co. same parts used. assuming the correct part was sent for the corrrect burner. diffrerent element will require different rated swties(ie. small , large, dual and so forth.), the indivudal switches are labeled, on the swithc itself ( L1,L2,H1 H2, P1 andso forth, so although the switches looke differnet they should stil have the same lettered terminal to plug into .

Need wiring solution for replacement part

Ok....Just replaced the Left Front "dual burner" switch on my Kitchenaid Supurba.

Original switch symptom:
Burner was stuck on all the time. We had to switch the circuit off in the main breaker box in the basement.

New switch problem:
The new replacement switch did not work properly. The element would come on and would never cycle on and off. Thus, the net result was if you turn the burner on, it was on "high". It didn't matter where put the heat setting at...It's on high for both the inner element and the larger outer element.

I ended up taking the old switch apart and found that one of the contacts was mis-aligned and wedged itself in the "closed" position. I un-wedged the mis-aligned contact and bent it back into alignment. I took out the new switch and put the old one back in. It works perfectly.

Meanwhile, I had to figure out why the new switch was not working. The new switch comes with re-wiring instructions because it is not an exact replacement as the old switch. There is a chart that tells you what wires go to which prongs on the new switch. The new switch also includes a "jumper wire" that must be installed. Here's where I went wrong. The instructions say to jump S1 to P1 (which I did). But, I did not route it exactly as the picture shows and the brass crimp end actually hits against another unused connector. So be careful when routing the jumper wire.

Old Switch Number: 9751758
New Switch Number: 8203536 (Made by FSP Appliance Care Products - A Whirlpool Corporation)

Now for the wiring:

Description Wire Color Old Switch New Switch
& designation Terminal # Terminal #

L1 Black (RL1) 2 P1
H1 Red 3 4
H2 Orange (LFA) 4 4A
P Dark Red 5 S2
N or L2b Brown (LFN) N 2
N or L2b Red (RL2) N P2

On the new switch, use the supplied jumper wire to jump S1 to P1 as instructed.
Yes, on the old switch, 2 wires connect to a common connector (the Brown LFN & Red RL2).

Unfortunatley, I did not document the red wire (LF3)...Sorry....

Hope this helps.....

GE Stove

I'll need a model number to determine what's going on and whether the part is really a generic. They should have given you some kind of installation instructions.
