No sound on all channels.

Usually this happens to my set when I am in HD cable channel mode after being on a non-digital ANALOG channel.

I basically reset the TV by changing to a DIGITAL cable channel -- stay on that channel for ten-twenty seconds -- then I switch back DIRECTLY to a HD channel (key in channel number directly on remote).

TV works fine -- seems to be a glitch when the TV changes modes from Analog to HD

I have the same issue. Its not the cable because all the other tv's are fine when tuned to those channels....Any luck?

I am having the exact same issue. It started happening within the first few hours of turning on the XBR9 for the first time. I also have a Motorola box from Comcast. This did not happen with the HD TV that was hooked up previously. Did you return the TV?

Have spoken to Tesco Electrical Support people (Technika linked with Tesco) and this appears to be a common fault since the switch. They say that as Technika are 'cheap' and low spec the only way around this problem is to replace the recorder with another of a higher spec and more reputable make. I told them that I was not prepared to pay some 100 - 200 pounds to replace it to end up with the same problem but they assure me (as much as they can) that is unlikely that the problem would reoccur with a better product. Not an ideal solution but I will ask around to ensure other people do not have similar problems with other equipment before spending on a replacement (failing that I can stop any recording as the reception and picture are fine to watch but this would be an unlikely way forward as we do like to record things on various channels).

Are you connected to an antenna?
Did the stations in your area go digital? (DTV converter required)

your digital or anolog board is bad needs replaced can find on ebay if you can get part #

It turned out to be a faulty cable. We replaced the cable - problem fixed.

Its a bad main or Tcon board
