SOURCE: Ingersol T30 won't shut off and blows pressure release valve

the wire juction box on your compressor has a pressure switch that may be wound in to tight take the cover off the box there should be a switch with a machine screw with nut and washer and spring back this nut off and see if that helps if you go to far you just crank it back in until the switch hit although it may be the other way around you may have to tighten to lower the pressure some of them are made that way if this does not solve your problem send me a picture of the switch and can solve it from there

SOURCE: need to know how to adjust pressure regulator for low/high limits

sorry to be contradictory here, but better not to mislead or scare someone... Thepressure relief valve has absolutly nothing to do with cut in cut out pressure settings.the pressure relief valve is abrass fitting on the outside of the tank hexagonal fitting with a thin shaft coming out of the centre normaly with a ring on it not unlike akey ring .THAT is a blow off valve a safety device, that long before the air pressure is too great for the tank, will blow offthe air pressure in the tank ,try it, grab the ring and pull it out and it will dis charge any air in the tank ,that ios what it will do if thair is too great in the tank.. tanks are pressure tested and the appropriate valve fitted. NOW FOR YOUR ORIGINAL PROBLEM .you will find a control box ,useualy black or dark brown bakerlite cover, the electric cord goes into it ,also there will be another electric cord coming out and going to the electric motor that drives the compressor . If you take the cover off this you will find the cut in and cut out adjustments that allow you to set the cut in and cut out pressure as high or low as you want, that is whith in the capascity of the unit.It is self explanitory and there will be ( or should be ) instructions inside the cover .If you have any difficulty come back to me preferably with themotor and compressor sizes and i will walk you through it NOW AS MUCH AS THIS GOES AGAINST THE GRAIN, SHAG79 IT WOULD BE FAR BETTER IF YOU KNEW A BIT MORE ABOUT THE THINGS YOU ARE ADVISING THEM ABOUT EXPLOSIONS AND DEATH !!! WHAT ARE YOU-----A ******???

Ingersoll and 15T2 lub oil turning milky, why??

Sogyer:
The milky appearance of the oil is due to moisture (water) getting into the oil. I recommend that you drain and change the oil immediately. atmospheric variations (particularly high humidity) will cause this. There are two reasons. First, when the compressor is running, air coming through the air intake will have water particles in it. That moisture in the air slips past the piston rings and accumulates in the crank case. There's no stopping that, but a clean air filter will help. Secondly, while the compressor is running, it tends to heat up. Any moisture that has entered the crank case will vaporize due to the increased heat of operation. When the compressor is shut down, the moisture vapor will condense on the inside walls of the crank case and form droplets which will run down into the crank case oil. When the compressor is started again, the oil agitators at the bottom of the pushrod caps will agitate the oil, thusly mixing the condensed water with the oil causing the milky appearance. Best to check the oil at each start-up, and change it when it gets milky.

Looking for overhall repair manual for type 30 mo#253 ingersoll rand compressor

To my knowledge IR does not make and overhaul repair manual for the 253. They just have a parts manual showing the parts and part numbers. They do make kits, like a valve kit, overhaul kit,rod kit etc. these kits usually have the part brake down in them.

Service of ingersoll rand

Actually not a lot of Parts.
1) Remove & Clean the Air Intake Element
a) Check and see IF the Secondary Pump Head has a Filter/Breather and Clean That also...
2) Drain and Change the Oil (per Manufacturer Requirements-I PREFER Ingersoll-Rand Compressor Oil Myself) Don't Over-Fill!!
3) Check the Wear on the Drive Belt(s) and Tension ( Deflection shouldn't be more than 5/8" Between the Motor and Compressor)
4) I usually Blow out the Motor with about 20psi of Air, since it probably has Sealed Shaft Support Bearings, and is the Brushless Type, Not Much to do. Pull Off the Inspection Plate, and Check for How Clean the Inside of the Motor is BEFORE you "Air-it-Out", if there are any signs of Greasy Dirt, you may want to get some Electrical Spray Cleaner, and spray just enough to Wash the Contaminants off...
5) DRAIN Your Main Holding Tank: Drain Until there is NO Moisture Left, just Dry Air. You could Drain into a Pint Mason Jar-Just make Sure you Only Open the Drain just enough to let a Minimal amount of Flow, and see what Contaminants are in your Tank...(this should be done at least Once a week anyways) I installed a Auto-Drain on Mine, AND a Auto Water Drain on the Regulator is a Great idea too...
6) Check ALL your Wiring Connections, make sure they are Tight...Vibration will cause them to Loosen.
7) Sometimes is a Good idea to Check Your Keyways on Your Pulley Shafts for Wear, should be a "Press-Fit"
8) Check the Pulley/Belt alignment, make sure it's running True. IF Not, Check Your Motor & Compressor Mounting Bolts

I usually do a PM (Periodical Maintanence) about every 3 Months on My Compressors...and don't forget to Oil Your Air Tools Before each Use.
