I had the same issue with my Ti-89 and I found that simply putting a decimal somewhere in the fraction makes it automatically convert to a decimal. for instance: type 2./3 instead of 2/3 and you'll get .666667

Fractions are shown as fractions, exponents as exponents, integrals as integrals, and so on. This makes entering calculations easier, and reduces the chance of errors.

At the same time, calculation results are displayed as fractions (or with roots or pi) whenever possible. Pressing the CHANGE button repeatedly will change these to decimal answers.
If you prefer to always get decimal results you need to disable the WriteView display mode. There is a misconception that fraction are less correct than decimal result. Quite the contrary. Calculations with fractions and/or with radicals are exact while decimal calculations are approximate.

Anyway, you want decimals and so decimals you will have.

When a result is displayed in fraction or radical (root form), just press the [SD] key and it will give you the so desired decimal representation.

If somehow you cannot stand the sight of a fraction or a radical, just tell your calculator so.

Press [SHIFT] [MODE] to open (SetUp) screen and press [2:LineIO]

Let us first set the record straight: Your calculation is a division not an addition. Be it as it may, the result you obtain is correct the fraction is equivalent to the one you entered, the difference lie in the fact that the calculator reduces the (entered) fraction to its simplest form.

Both the numerator and the denomonator have been divided by 15.

If the result is already calculated and displayed, press the [S<=>D] key It will convert a fraction or radical to decimal. This is always possible. If the result is decimal it may be converted to a fraction or a radical (Not always possible).

If the expression to be evaluated is still in the command line and you have not pressed the [=] key, you can force the result to be displayed in decimal format by pressing [SHIFT][=] instead of just [=].

More permanently. If you do n o care for fractions and radicals, set the Input/Outpout mode to LineIO. To do do press [SHIFT][MODE] to access the (SETUP) screen and select [2:LineIO]

To change from Fraction display to Decimal display on the Casio fx-300ES (and probably other calculators)

1) Press the "SHIFT" button

2) Press the "MODE/SETUP" button

3) Press the "2" button

This Changes it to LINEIO (Decimal)

Doing all of the above but pressing the "1" button instead of the "2" puts it back into MATHIO mode (Fraction)

Hope this Helps
