Replacing broken belt on beko drcs68s tumble drier

I have to replace a broken belt on my Beko tumble drier. I'm really nervous that i might actually cause more damage. After taking off the top and the back do i have to disconnect any wires or anything? Or is it a case of pulling the drum back and slipping the belt over the drum? then putting everything back? I am aware that putting the belt on the motor bit at the bottom is going to be difficult but im struggling with how to get the belt over the drum?? my model is beko drcs68s condensor dryer. Any help would be most gratefully appreciated.

SOURCE: Unsure how to access drier to put on new drive belt

Here is my own solution...
Disconnect from mains (of course) remove top (2 screws at back near top) Unplug electric connectors (on back panel, top RHS). Make sure note what goes where! Lie unit down on front remove screws (2) holding the drum spindle cover (centre of back) and remove cover pop off the circlip holding drum spindle, and washer unscrew back panel - hex headed screws round outside of back Remove screws at bottom of back panel which screw into the plastic vent housing (3 I think) Lift whole back off. (there's a plastic lip at bottom - need to pull away from this a bit) The drum spindle will be unsupported now, so don't move unit Full access now to drum and motor beneath Get and put on new belt reassemble.
Actually, having got into unit, found could not get belt from local spares shop (it had closed down), so bought new drier!

SOURCE: how do i replace a

Hi,

Thank you for contacting Fixya.com.

Unplug the unit. Take the top off. The rear panel has to come off of the appliance. Remove the top panel and loosen all screws on complete back panel having removed circlip holding the drum spindle on to the back panel. You will also need to disconnect wires/leads on top right inside panel. Take all the screws holding the panel on out. Take the parts the drum spindle comes through off.Take the rear panel out of the way. Fit the belt to the drum and stretch it over the motor shaft.Fit the rear panel to the drum first and fit the parts removed from the spindle. Lift the rear panel into place and screw it back on. Ensure the drum is located into the front panel of the appliance.

Please get back to us if you have any further query.

Have a nice day.

Take the back cover off. The thermostat is located next to the heating coil, usually held on by two wires.

Your local parts supplier will also be able to test it for you to see if that the problem before you buy it

SOURCE: Beko Tumble Dryier - Model DRVS 73 W the Belt 9PHW

Very easy on all tumble dryers.

UNPLUG FROM POWER FIRST!

This is simply a case of:
Take the top off the machine (Usually a couple of screws holding the lid on at the back).
Or - Rempove the inspection panel from the back
Drop the new belt over the drive motor spindle
On some machines you may need to thread the belt around a tensioning wheel
Now take the belt and place it on the side main wheel that drives the drum and simply spin the drum wheel with your hand, guiding the new belt into place as you spin the wheel.
It should simply stretch a little and work its way onto the wheel as it is hand turned.

Note, once it is on, take a look at the drive motor and make sure that the belt is sitting in the same place as the old one. Most of these motors have a slotted spindle and you can see from the clean and shiny surface where on the spindle the belt used to sit. If it is a little out of place, once again just take hold of the belt and pull it toward you or push it away as you spin the main drum wheel in order to move it into the correct slot.

How do i change my tumble dryer belt on a beko thanks

Just changed the belt on a Beko DRCS68W and its a real pig! Remove the top panel and loosen all screws on complete back panel having removed circlip holding the drum spline on to the back panel. You will also need to disconnect wires/leads on top right inside panel to give you more space. Once you have done this you should be able to ease away the back panel far enough to get the new belt around the drum and over the drum spline in the middle. Then the tricky bit - getting the belt tensioned on to the motor drive spline. I did this before securing the drum and back panel, which gives a bit more flexibility. I also used about 15ins of 15mm copper pipe to ease the belt down over the motor spline. Hard part was getting the back panel back lined up with the screw holes as the belt tension distorts the casing. Finally hit on the idea of lying the machine on its side so the weight of the drum is pulling away from the motor and helping to line up the screw holes. Two and a half hours later job done! I guess if I ever did another it would be a whole lot easier but still not the type of job I relish!
