SOURCE: How do I replace the

First, you will need to turn the unit OFF and unplug it. Then remove the front plexiglass front of the firebox. Lift off the plastic coal affect cover and this will give you access to the bulbs. Simply unscrew the faulty one and replace it with a like kind bulb (60 watt, small base chandelier bulb). It's a good idea to replace all the bulbs at the same time. Because if one just failed, the others will follow shortly.
Reassemble all the parts you removed in reverse order. Plug the unit back in and turn the unit ON.

I hope this helped you.

To replace the bulbs, your will need to remove the plexiglass front, then remove the logs and set them off to side where they won't get stepped on. Then lift up the plastic simulated ember bed. You now have access to the light bulbs. The required bulbs are 60 watt small base chandelier bulbs.

Says you can turn it on and off? Did you knock the switch?

Can I operate the flame effect on the fire without the heat?
All our Optiflame and Opti-myst fires can be operated on a flame-effect only setting, as can the flickering flame effect on our freestanding bar fires.

Is the flame effect expensive to run?
No, to run the flame effect involves powering light bulbs and a small electric motor and in most cases costs no more than a couple of pence an hour. Some of our fires have LED lamps fitted which are even more energy efficient.

Some have bulbs, some have LED.
Example calculations:
Using UK standard average price of electricity of 14p/kWh (source: Energy Saving Trust Feb 2015)
Optiflame LED flame effect only (eg Danesbury) = 0.1p every hour
Optiflame conventional bulb, effect only (eg Cheriton) = 2p every hour
Opti-myst, flame effect only (eg Oakhurst) = 3p every hour
Opti-V single screen = 0.5p every hour
2kW fan heater, on constantly (no thermostat) = 28p every hour

Optiflame lightbulbs for sale. Remove the coals and check for bulbs.

Hi I have the same fire with almost the same problem, I even bought some new batteries for the remote thinking that may be the problem.

I bought my fire suite second hand ,(Vega suite with Isis inset) in almost new condition and absulutely love it, so am gutted it has stopped working , Someone said , ''It could be the hidden bulbs at the backof the isis inset that need changing, But on trying to find access to the bulbs I just cannot find a way to get to them, There is 4 screws on the near inside which previous owner has cross threaded and wondered if that is the only way to get to them, If you have any ideas I would really appreciate your help and will contact you also if I can find a solution, Take care have fun

Hampton bay CFL lights flicker when they are turned off

I believe the flickering comes from the way the CFLs extinguish themselves after the remote turns them off. As the other poster said, turning them off with the wall switch as well after turning them off with the remote stops the flickering.

It is because the remotes are a dual mesh type of signal, which uses the RF as well as the electrical power to activate and turn them off.

Actually, this type bulb is not designed to work as well in dimmers or remote switches as is incandescent. You will find if you replace them with regular incandescent they will not flicker.
