SOURCE: ViewSonic VX2235WM turns on than screen goes blank

The problem is most likely the monitor itself. Hook up an old monitor (usually someone has an old monitor laying around) if the computer works with another monitor you'll know for sure.
Look at your monitor using a flash light at an angle, if you can see a picture in the background you have a bad inverter.

SOURCE: my ViewSonic VG1930WM (Black) LCD Monitor wont turn on

You need to open it up and the first place to look will be the power supply, look for bad caps with bulging top, post back what you find so we can guide you further. See example of failed VIEWSONIC monitors due to bad caps:

SOURCE: Monitor display stays for a few seconds only but has power always

I have the exact same issue with mine. Viewsonic VX2235WM turns on fine for about three seconds when asked to by my software attempts, but then shuts into sleep mode. I agree completely with BudMrtn. The issue is that your monitor has been through some stress and one if not multiple of the problems is due to part failure. In this case I would suggest a capacitor issue. First off make sure, for a fact, that you have the appropriate drivers. ( For Windows 7 I would suggest using the unsigned drivers from Viewsonic for this model. Now the reason that it is cutting off after a few seconds is because one of the capacitors is not sustaining a charge. It is showing as on for a sec because it is getting the appropriate power to operate but it is not receiving the appropriate level to maintain and is either shorting or free flowing the voltage inappropriately. Now the real question is... do you fix this issue. Well the monitor isn't the most expensive, but it is nice and would be worth the trouble. I would suggest you take a practice run on yours to learn a little something about repairing this level of issue. It is not a very hard fix but it is a very technical one. Understand that to you it is dead already, so what is the worst thing you can really do to it. Use absolute caution when handling these type of repairs. Make sure it is unplugged and use a muli-meter to find your short. I suggest you try and repair this because it is not as dangerous as a CRT. With a CRT you have to watch for residual charge... now you are looking for a busted capacitor which you must realize does retain a charge and electrocution can and more then likely will occur. Use a surge protector in case you screw up. Now if I am right the capacitor you are looking for is not holding a charge so residual charge is probably not going to be an issue... but you never know. Also always keep in mind that even though we have the exact same result, the issue may be varied to a degree of almost infinity. It smells like poo, it looks like poo, it even taste like poo, but it might be a ham sandwich, or a pigeon. My point to all of this is that you should not look at this as a downed monitor, instead you should view this as an opportunity to better get to know your electronics and how to repair them. Have fun and good luck.

Viewsonic E70f monitor goes standby by message OFF MODE IN 5SEC

off mode in 5 sec, problem represents that the data cable is not properly connected or the monitor is unable to recognize the connection once check your key board lights above the num pad when you switch on the PC if the lights appear . Then the power supply is not provided to only the monitor unplug the data cable and plug it again properly, even if doesnt solve your problem just shake the data cable receiver pin located to the back of the monitor.

If the lights on the keyboard does not appear the problem is within the cabinet it may occur due to the dust too,so clean it properly , using a hair drier for blowing the dust is better.

Hope this would solve your problem.

Please check the display adjustments & cable connections of your monitor, if still the problem exists, then there's an internal electronic part/s of your monitor that are cold soldered / defective. I recommend to bring the unit to a service center to properly diagnose & fix the problem. best regards
