LG Rear Projection Television Model RT-56NZ23RB -LG Rear Projection Television Model RT-56NZ23RB -horizontal and vertical outputs checked..still going on for 10 second with sound and than switches off

LG Rear Projection Television Model RT-56NZ23RB -switches on for 10 seconds with sound but no screen and than just switches off..What can i do???

SOunds like a loss of B+ to the horizontal ckt. possibly bad convergence chips and one or more open fuses .

Thus problem sounds like you have some failed capacitors on the power supply circuitry. I have had this problem on an older TV and it was solved by replacing the popped caps. Do not try this repair yourself, unless you are confident you can do so safely! Also make sure that you unplug everything before poking around inside!

hi first of all u should check ur transistor connections.Check your Horizontal and vertical output transistors.You should also check the horizontal and vertical yoke connections as well as your low voltage regulators.... if any of these got damaged u should purchase a new one.. but try to purchase with the help of a tv service assistant...

I have a Mitsubishi CS-3125R that displays a horizontal line with sound. I suspect the horizontal transistor is out and cannot find one. Any ideas?


You are misleading yourself. When you have a horizontal line across the screen it means that the vertical circuit is not working. You see, the vertical circuit moves the beam up and down which is not happening. The horizontal circuit moves the beam left and right and it is working. Your set probably needs a new vertical output IC and some electrolytic capacitors that work with it. The caps dry up with time and harm the output IC.

Check your horizontal output and regulators also vertcal output.You have a deflection problem either Horizontal or vertical outputs or one of the regulators are faulty. Let me know if you require more assistance.

Hitachi 60 in rear projection tv


If the picture is jumping from top to bottom this is a vertical issue. The common cause on older Hitacjis is loose connections on the vertical output IC.
