SOURCE: put a new battery in. alternator not charging-put

what machine? who tested it? who sold you these parts you didnt need? take it to a qualified repair shop that knows HONDA and can fix it for you, instead of taking monbey from you for uneeded parts.

2002 astro van , just shut down, lost all power, including breaks and power steering, what can cause this to happen? Battery drained

if the batter has been drained during operation, it points to a serious alternator /regulator failure
The vehicle uses most of the alternator out put during normal operations and a percentage is left over to charge the battery
Check for voltage out put from the alternator and ensure that it is dc volts as ac volts indicate a rectifier failure and will not charge a battery
check for drive belt tension and condition as a bad belt will not drive an alternator at full capacity
I suggest that you have the alternator and regulator bench tested by an accredited auto electrician and have the battery load tested as well to check for broken cell bridges

2002 mitsubishi eclipse alternator doesn't charge when cold replaced battery replaced alt had new alt tested checked grounds all good dose this paticular car have a alt relay?

No, cars do not have alternator relays. You say it doesn't charge but checks tested ok, and obviously that can't be true. Test it again. You put a voltmeter across the 2 batter terminals. With engine off, you should get 12.5 volts. While cranking, it should drop to 10 volts. When running, it should be over 14 volts. Cold or hot should make no difference at all, unless the belt slips or something? Why do you think it does not charge when cold? You have not told us everything.

2003 Saturn vue awd 3.0 testing showed alternator putting out about 1/2- we replaced the alternator & the serpentine belt,- red wire?the new alternator in did not solve the problem-battery is new-

How do you know it's only putting out about 1/2 ? an 1/2 what ? Amps or volts ? Did you hook up a volt meter to the battery posts ? red to red an black lead to negative post of the battery ? Does it show 13.1 to 14. 1 volts with the engine running , if so it's charging . The only thing that would cause the alternator not to put out full charge amps would be a bad diode inside the alternator or a power or ground issue. You need to check power an grounds doing a voltage drop test . Voltage Drop Testing the Charging System

1982 Yamaha XJ 550, the battery will not take a charge. New battery, checked all connections, ran all the tests (stator, brushes, and alternator). Replaced the voltage regulator/recifier. Not sure what is...

It is corrected properly, right? + to the wiring harness and - to ground ... right? Are you certain about the rectifier? Is the battery charged at this time?

You know a alternator cannot make power unless you first put power into it ... right? Alternators (unlike most generators) are not self exciting. If your battery is weak or "dead", the alternator cannot make electricity to charge the battery. I don't know what the rating of your alternator is. Your battery should be fully charged before you do any more tests. If you have a 1 amp charger, allow at least 10 hours for a full charge. Don't cook your battery with a big, powerful, fast charging automotive battery charger.

Good luck with your repair ... I hope you find this response helpful.

Thanks for your question @ FixYa.com

I put 3 brand new batters and alternators and it keep saying charging system

Hello, your Alternator has a fusible link of about 80 Amps to protect the electrical system. The big wire from the back of the Alternator needs to be tested by disconnecting the big wire and attaching an Ohmmeter to the loose end. The other end of the big wire will be found in a power connection and at that location you run a test wire to the other end of your Ohmmeter. It should complete a circuit. If it does not, the fusible link is blown. It needs to be replaced.

If the big wire does make a circuit, the problem is in the small 12 Volt wire going to the Alternator. Usually this is termed an "exciter" wire. It feeds the small voltage into the Alternator so big Amperage comes out. If this wire is dead you need to trace it back to the Ignition switch.

Your local Autoparts store, I know Autozone, Oreillys, and Advance will show pictures of the part and often locations. Sometimes you can look in the aftermarket shop manuals they sell and reference what you need. When your Alternator shorted it probably burned the fusible link.

Would like to know how you made out and if you found my solution useful.

Hello!i put a new starter&battery in and it still sounds like the startet not ingaging.tested bouth old&new starters thay bouth pased.same with the batters.HELP ME PLEASE..thanks

Check all cables to the starter and the ground or negative cable from the battery to the engine or frame. They get old and break down between the insulation and you wont get enough current to start the car

1999 f250 will not charge battery

It appears that the alternator is still not charging the battery.Charge the battery up,and refire the truck.Check voltage with a voltmeter, directly off the back of the alternator. Most all alternators of your year model have the voltage regulator built into the alternator. If the alternator isn't producing any voltage, then it is bad, even if it is new.I have had defective new parts before.
